  Dang it! Dang it!! Broken arm at work tonight

  what a night!

  one of our maintenance personnel had his arm broken in 3 places tonight at work.

  I have never broken a bone anywhere on my body, except when the surgeon broke my breastbone in two to get at my heart. It's really amazing that in 15 years of chimney work and scaffold setup, teardown and working on it 30-50 feet in the air, plus scaling dangerous roofs nearly every day I never had a serious injury. I only fell twice, and only from 10 feet and walked away with my butt and ego bruised but that's it.

  I hope your co-worker regains the use of his arm (don't I know how limited use of arms is like), and worker's comp comes through big time for him.

  What does your desktop wallpaper look like?

  there are so many to choose from over the net.

  i usually use the basic wallpapers that windows xp provide.. i love using "azul" wallpaper to remind me of the summer, since our summers don't last long.. .

  this time of year i turn to the "autumn" wallpaper with the nice colored leaves.. .

  All I can do is hold the door open for little old ladies, and say "please," "thank you," "excuse me," and "I'm sorry" as much as I can. As time goes by I realize what little value our existence really is, so why not make the best of it while we're here?

  russell, was a prominent free mason in the pittsburgh community.

  he went so far as to declare: "i am a free mason" in several of his lectures.

  There are four things JWs teach that I can agree on (on the surface anyway):

  1 - You should not murder anybody

  2- You should not steal from anybody

  3 - There is no 3-headed god

  4 - When you die you're really dead, not a disembodied spirit

  That's about it.

  Joel, I agree. I established and re-established friendships with "worldly" people after my exit from the Watchtower religion. The moral support and just plain old good times made for a much easier transition.

  i have a friend, paddy (rc - yeah i know, why would a dub have a satan worshiping friend).

  she is so kind and caring.

  amazingly she claims that when she lights a candle and prays for something it works.. maybe this is just another boring "does prayer work" question - but: .

  I'm not questioning who it is.

  Neither shall I question your faith. It's yours and it seems harmless enough. I would just recommend to be guarded against disappointment(s).

  My brother married in a Methodist church nearly 5 years ago. Part of the ceremony included the lighting of candles, to symbolize the couple's becoming "one." He's going through a nasty divorce now, due to his wife's infidelity. Things happen because they happen. Personally, I find no reason to attribute nastiness or goodness to any supernatural being.
