LT, were Thomas' words in Jn 20:28 recorded in Greek in a vocative sense or an exclamatory sense?

I'm just happy to believe that none of these conversations actually took place, so it's just a little fun to look at them and have a scholastic interchange of ideas.
I personally think Joe Malik's ideas make a lot of sense. St. Augustine and Athanasius would have course disagree but they were jerks and long dead.

Thanks, everyone. I got some very sad news yesterday though, my choco brown lab, full of life and vibrancy, that went with my girlfriend to Pittsburgh got hit by a car and died. I'm trying to concentrate on the positives in my life, which are many, but the negatives are many too. This is not the time to f**k with me or mi familia.
Edited to add: This board software is f**ked up. I want to start a new topic and it says I have to wait 21 hours. I have PM'd Simon the last couple of days but he's either ignoring me or too busy to get a handle on his board.

How many people have you "unwitnessed" since you've been out?
by mkr32208 ini was thinking about this the other day.
in 25 (ish) years of being a witness... well i guess i became a publisher at like 12 or 13 so actually only 13 (ish) years of service... (i could be a doctor in less time... ugggg) i went out in service lets say an average of ten hours a month... so were talking 120 hrs a year lets call it 1500 total hours.
in that time i brought no one into the truth!

Hopefully, none. I don't want any misplaced credit to be attributed to me. I firmly believe that people should make up their own minds regarding such things

Shining One's Link To A Dishonest ICR Article
by AlanF inin the thread "the skeptic's worst nightmare" ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/96102/2.ashx ) shining one gave a link ( http://www.icr.org/index.php?module=articles&action=view&id=2464 ) to an icr (institute for creation research) artcle titled "evolution--impossible to embarass its believers" by the icr's founder henry morris.
why was the soft tissue preserved?
all it means is, "we don't accept what real scientists say.

My mom is over here right now helping me, cutting the grass in my backyard. My dad just called 20 minutes ago, just to talk. When it comes to Watchtower rules about shunning, my family says "Up yours, Watchtower!"
PS my wonderful father also reads this forum, as a lurker

New Testament Paradise Earth
by TheListener inone of the things that bothers me is the very little or almost non-existent way the paradise earth is talked about in the new testament.
i've never heard a dub even think about that for one second.. the only occasions i can think of that the dubs use to show the new testament does in fact talk paradise earth is the scripture at matthew 5:5 (about mild tempered ones, or meek inheriting the earth), revelation 21:3,4 (about no more sickness, sorrow, suffering nor death) and jesus on the cross saying that the guy next to him would be with jesus in paradise.. none of these are overly convincing.
why didn't the apostles talk more about the paradise.

Rev. 5:10 isn't mistranslated in the NWT. There's plenty of arguments to use either "on" or "over" but a spacial element is definiely not applied.
One thing that, I suppose, deserves consideration is that after Jesus was resurrected he spent 40 days with his disciples in an intensive teaching of the Kingdom of God, and in Acts 1:8 they still viewed it as earthly/political. Did they goof up after all that or would Jesus literally return to earth from heaven and drink real wine with his disciples again?
Edited to add: Speaking of which, where's the clear wording in the NT that Christians are heaven-bound when they die and/or are resurrected? I think it's Ephesians that says "our citizenship resides in the heavens" but that doesn't say heaven is their final destination, just as a person could be conceived in Paris but born in Germany (in relation to the 'new creation' business). Joe Malik addressed John 14 where the word "heaven" isn't even used.
