Looting is stealing, is it not? I detest stealing. But what would I do if I felt I or my family needed the basic necessities of life? Hope I don't ever have to find out.

Who knows that the future holds for that religion. Many here have nailed down, I believe, the immigrant factor.
: "If Jehovah is willing I plan to come back every year"
Why wouldn't he be willing as all get-out? I never understand religious people and their slogans, JW, born-agains, or otherwise.

lol. how repulsive. i thought barber was dead. i remember 8 years ago him giving a talk in a special assemby and he seemed to be winging it and had so many facts wrong about JWs. I remember thinking, if I get that old and senile and people still treat me like a god, ok. But I won't. So do me in.

Do any Bible passages/stories make you emotional or cry
by Cygnus inabsalom, a complete asshole, met an untimely death, and even though he caused untold trouble to his father, david still wept bitterly over his son, 'absalom,oh my son absalom!
" that one still gets to me.. and at the end of one of rush's more emotional songs, distant early warning (1984), geddy calls out "absalom!
absalom!

Have You Witnessed To JW's With Postcards?
by Honesty insomeone mentioned that since postcards are so quickly read information can be processed by the jw mind before they realise it is from a source that is not pro jw.
have any of you here had any experience sending postcards containing delightful words of truth about the troof?.

The Number One Reason Why I Am Not a "Watchtower Apologist"
by logansrun ina number of people of late have noticed the concilliatory stance i take towards the jehovah's witnesses -- both as individuals and even as an organization.
they have quite rightly pointed out that i appear to "defend" the organization and it's members from attacks that i feel are unwarranted or unnecessary.
too often, i feel, this forum becomes a gripe session in which mighty ex-jw throngs feel the need to paint the organization or individual jws as totally devoid of any good qualities whatsoever.

I'm apostate as they come, but I'll defend the Witnesses when I think they have a good point or demonstrate acts of good will out of sincerity. It's important to be fair.

JWs who were actually cool
by Black Man inwe always talk about the crazy j-dub fundy types, but i knew some cool jws (co, do, bethelites, pio) during my time.
this is kind of a "where are they now" post along with acknowledginig some jws who were cool and down-to-earth.
as with most "cool" and good people in the borg, most of them are either not jws anymore (burned out) or are not "serving" in responsible positions (funny how that works, isn't it).

Ray Hartman was the guy's name. Alan and Sister Hood were certainly funny, but stuck up, and hated the Buffalo cold. Cool to hear about them ten years after I knew them.

Why No Knocking ???
by Jeannine inmy husband and i are not jw's.
my husband sympathizes with the religion because his entire family is "in".
as a result, he has come to know a local jw (non-relative).

When I was young, I was told that I could leave literature at folks' houses if it was old and people were not home. Otherwise it was compulsory to ring the bell or knock
Same thing for early morning landrymat witnessing. If you spoke to somebody you could count a placement if you flipped them onto a counter. If you just left them without a word, you don't get any statisical addition to report.
