  i got a job today that i have waited for two years for.

  this girl i work with has sang at shows having erika badu on the lineup and she just got signed with a record contract.

  her name is rene washington.

  I've been there several times. Ozomatli rocked the place a few years ago back when they were only a little L.A. band. I've been looking at the pictures to see if I recognize anyone, nobody yet.

  yeah... they rocked it again this year...

  Along with Blackalicious.... (no photos of Blackalicious, cause I danced me azz off)

  This was a 5000 guest event... much more mellow than Reggae on the River, which is a 20,000+ guest event....

  What advice would you give newbies?

  ok well, i started thinking.... when i was new here i made a lot of mistakes.

  i'm sure i'm not the only one.. in fact, i think i'll got out on a limb and say, i still make mistakes .

  one of the things i wish i would have 'known' then was there are so many personalities on discussion boards, let alone one where there are alot of injured souls and alot of questioning people, that it helps to be forgiving and understanding.

  Life IS hard to deal with.

  my son is in icu and my wife's sister-in-law's dad just died this morning.. my son was going with my daughter to charlston sc for the weekend.

  she went by to pick him up and he fell over and wasn't breathing.

  she had some training in giving artificial respiration and was able to revive him until the medics got there.

  in some ways lfe as a jw was full - is life now more interesting or more of a chore?.

  i have businesses to see to tomorrow (saturday) then perhaps i will go out for a few beers with my wife n saturday night.

  sunday, catch up on a bit of paperwork and then perhaps watch the football (soccer) on the tv at our local pub.. .

  here is what i remember:.

  huey lewis and the news, madona, dire straights, "brothers in arms" !

  i remember selling the first exciting computer called the commodor 64.. there was space invaders, vhs movies became a big deal such as "on golden pond" beta reared its head but never took off.. my husband and i worked for a company selling these players/machines and renting movies in chicago.
