For those of you who might be attending one of Satan's Halls, how about donating a copy to the public library first and then leaving slips of paper with something that might catch their attention and also stating that such-and-such book is available at the public library? I'm thinking someone would just trash any book you might leave.

The most IMPORTANT preaching work ever
by darth frosty inis being carried out by two old women standing on the street corner looking like they are either waiting for a bus or lost.. .
i was at work today and drove past a couple of 'sister's' doing street work.
to my trained eye, i could tell that they were indeed witnesses.

Right there with y'all and I hate it!! Don quai usually works pretty well for me, but not here lately. After I get cold, then I go and curl up in a real tight ball and get a crick in my neck. So then I've got one of those bitch headaches for the next day or so. Not only did we get to birth those babies and have pms, now this. (Am I ranting?)

FOR DUMMIES: Jehovah Has ALWAYS Used an Organization. Not!!
by Open mind inhow many times have you heard this from a jw?:.
"jehovah has always worked through an organization!
now i've heard plenty of rebuttals of this on jwd, but last night i thought of another way to look at it.

I asked my husband who God used before Russell. He gave me some lame-a$$ generalized sort-of answer. Told him I wanted a specific answer. Got the must-ask-elder response. I've been waiting three or four years now.

The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, JW's say, so it must be false. Someone show me the word 'organization' in the Bible.
Really good point. Useless, of course, but a great point nonetheless.

No, but I do have a question: If it's NOT the truth, would you want to know?

JW-speak "fleshly" so-and-so
by Inquisitor ini suppose another way of telling that a person has spent some time in the halls of jehovah is the inclination to use the term "fleshly".
has it occurred to you yet that people do not generally refer to their biological siblings as a "fleshly" relative?
there is the occasional "yes, he/she is my flesh and blood".

Hubby said that word last night. So creepy. He used to say it a lot more, but I think my mocking laughter kind of deters him. Fleeeesh-leee -- yuck!

Shunned by my SIL the B........
by AK - Jeff inshunning still hurts for me, i admit it.
though i have no common ground with these people any longer, it is just the idea that i am treated as evil for nothing more than exiting the religion.
i was in a chinese rest on wednesday.

I think we show off our origins also in our need to be accepted and protected by our "tribe".
On a side note, this whole shunning thing sounds very much like a death curse. I knew someone whose family did that to her. Nobody would acknowledge her and no one would even speak her name. The whole family acted as if she had never existed. It works because the person has no human contact with anyone. It's very cruel and the person eventually dies. Okay. Enought of that. We'd all understand if you did bi*ch-slap her.

Cloth Diapers
by reneeisorym inso .. my husband and i are going to start trying for kids next year.
we had a long discussion last night about disposable diapers vs. cloth diapers.
i know this decision can wait but i just like talking about my expectations early rather than end up with conflict later on.. i want to use cloth diapers and he thinks disposables are the way to go.

White Dove's right about the rash thing. I used cloth for a while, but where we lived, it was always so humid that I had a hard time keeping the diaper rash in check. Switched to disposables and everybody was much happier.
