April 15 WT: Society acknowledges some find its teachings hard to accept
by truthseeker inthe april 15, 2007 watchtower revolves around the congregation, it's benefits and requirements.. the second study article is let the congregation be built up.
under the subheading sticking with the congregation the society acknowledges those who cannot accept a certain teaching even after doing research in their publications.. .

If there were no boundaries, where would you like to live?
by JH inno boundaries, but still differenet speaking languages, and different looking people and different customs, but no boundaries so you could find work anywhere and have the same privileges than you would have in your own country.. i'd definitely move where it's warmer.
that wouldn't be hard to find.... .

Severe weather sweeps state
- Kingdom Hall hit by tornado; some power outages reported
By Nicklaus LoveladyA line of violent storms swept across central Mississippi on Saturday, leaving a trail of destruction in its path.
Members of the Jehovah's Witnesses Indianola Mississippi on U.S. 49 South in Sunflower County were busy Saturday night cleaning debris inside their Kingdom Hall.
Members said a tornado destroyed the carport and a storage building and damaged the roof of the main building. The damaged roof allowed rain to seep into the building, forcing members to cancel today's 10 a.m. services.
"It's pretty unfortunate that our building was hit by a tornado, but we have an emergency contingency plan for events like this," said Leslie Fields, an elder at the Kingdom Hall.
Sunflower County Emergency Management Director Mike Pruitt reported trees and power lines down in the county and many residential carports being damaged.
Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Entergy had reported 6,731 customers in Mississippi were without power. By 9:30 p.m. that number had jumped to 9,630, company spokeswoman Ann Becker said.
Becker said crews have been called in from north Mississippi to help assist in restoring power to customers.
"It may be until (today) before we are able to get everyone's power restored," Becker said.
Other reports in Mississippi, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Mark McAllister, include:
- Penny-sized hail in Ethel.
- Unconfirmed tornadoes in Sunflower and LeFlore counties.
- A hotel damaged and a carport tossed 30 feet into the air in Greenville.
- Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
In the Jackson area, high winds caused a number of power outages in Flowood and Madison County.
Gail Fratkin, who lives near Dogwood Festival Market, said her home as well as the shopping center lost power for more than an hour. However, power was restored to Dogwood shortly before 8 p.m.

Ex-JW's Pioneers Help! What can I tell my 75 year old mom who "fs" in rain?
by booker-t ini have tried talking to my "devout" jw mom until i am blue in the face and she just won't budge.
but now i am really worried to death for her.
the other day she told me that she was going on return visits with another pioneer sister who is in her early 40's and much, much younger than my mom.

I'd confront the pioneer sister in a kind way just mentioning her health and how you worry about her.

Resurrection vs. Re-Creation...
by Tuesday inum, what's the deal with this?
i'm speaking with a witness and he keeps talking about the resurrection and the way it's explained sounds like it's really a re-creation of all of our memories in god's mind then put back on earth in a re-created body.
so in essence a clone of me with my memories and personality will live forever in paradise, how exactly is that a resurrection.

Yes it makes perfect sense what you are saying. I am afraid that there is no explaining that one to them. Its really like telling me that an apple is really called an orange and no matter how much someone tells me this, I still don't think "orange" when I see an apple. I say that that's going to have to be one of the last things a former JW will ever get -- not the first.

I moved a few months after I DAed and I remember cleaning out my closet and throwing away a dozen dresses. I figured I wouldn't have any need for them and I was right. I kept a few for funerals and such. I then had to wear a dress to a funeral at the end of last year and it reminded me how much I hate it. I think its the pantyhose ...

Your whole story just sounds so familiar to me. I've experienced many of the same things (no, not all). The boy I ran away with to get away from home turned out to be an abuser and I had to go to the elders with it. I was a victom and felt on trial for it. The elders and that man you had to deal with were so cruel!! Bless your heart!
I do hope you can find a way to heal. Its so very hard.
