Maybe there's hope for some dubs afterall...

i heard of an interesting sheparding call where two elders stopped by a brothers house (on a saturday morning...hmmm, i wonder, did they stop counting their time...but i digress)...anyhoo, they came to this brothers house to "encourage" him.

it seems he had been missing a lot of meetings and his service time was way down.

now, knowing that this brother's wife suffered from depression and that there was some marital strife, they still sought to "encourage" him by putting pressure on him to "do more", as if this would solve all his problems.. i know the two elders and before everyone gets a bad picture of them, they're actually okay guys...its just that they're unqualified to act as marriage counselors or to give advice in the mental health field.

talked to my parents last nite...

in the vain hope that maybe...just maybe things would be better...or at least somewhat improved...i was wrong.

i was told about the al gore dvd that talks about how bad the world is and when i tried to say i didnt want to think about how bad the world is and rather think of ways to improve it they showed me a book about "how to deal with emotions" or something like that...i kind of tuned out right about then.

i talked about my job and my dad said, "see!

Each time I hear from my family I wish I hadn't. I know that's probably terrible but they make me so angry. Its just about better that they not try to communicate with me. I love them much more when they aren't saying things to hurt me.

I feel for you. I hope they get out one day. (along with all of these nuts)

i'm worried because i sent a christmas card plus had a gift sent by ups over the internet about 7 days ago and haven't heard anything.

i would feel really feel bad if my person didin't receive their gift or card.

so i think we need to have an official post place.

MySpace is dying...

lately i've noticed more and more jw groups on myspace seem to be disappearing and losing members.

at first i egotistically thought might have something to do with my efforts (i sometimes suffer from delusions of grandeur).

however, a couple posts came to my attention on two of the private jw groups.... .

One sister that use to message me often told me the elders would not accept her aux.pioneer application until she deleted her myspace account. She finally gave into them because she wanted to be recommended to a foriegn language hall .

Wow. Where is this in the Bible? "Thou shalt not have a myspace account." Dubb 145:3

Smiles on Paper Bags

hello folks, i'm 27 and left the witnesses mentally around the age of 19, and physically around the age of 24. anyhow, back in the day, my best friend and i would draw cartoons and make up hilarious stories about people in the kingdom hall.....this is what we would do to make it through the meetings.

one sunday morning, my buddy was really depressed and wrote this poem.

i found it in a notebook while i was moving last week and thought i would share.. smiles on paper bags.
