  i posted this also on the other board i go to, this is so irritating..... .

  we really need prayers.......let me tell our situation.

  4christ, you don't say what State you live in, but in Oregon, if you are injured at work, you have the right to go to ANY doctor ANY time (and not limited to ONE visit or ONE doctor), explain the cause of the injury, and the Worker's Compensation Board takes it all from there. It is solely the determination of the WCB that prevails...you need not get an attorney to defend your rights. All due compensation will be paid retroactively to the date of injury. If you disagree with the initial determination of the WCB, you have very specific appeal rights.

  I'm not a specialist on WC law, but I HAVE been through several operations (I am a construction worker too...hahah) and on WC for a combined period of over 2 years. Never had a problem like you describe.

  Also, I suspect that the employer may be liable for discrimination and violation of State labor laws. Perhaps others have more certain knowledge of this.

  so many times when i was in field service, i would run across people who wanted to argue scripture.

  some were pretty good, they knew their stuff and we would spend hours going over this point and that point.

  it was some times, kind of educational on both sides, but more often then not ... it was a waste of two hours.

  Dragon, your threads are VERY thought-provoking! And I like how you end most of them with "My Thought." That is so cool...and so utterly different from the JW mentality of "My Truth."

  You say "Is it worth risking your relationship?" and I don't think it is."

  IMHO, risking a relationship for the sake of this kind of sharing is the ONLY thing that makes such sharing meaningful. If we always pull back from probing sensitivities (ours and others) we are reduced to living a bland and nondescript existence. Life is challenge, turmoil, change...along with periods of peace and tranquility.

  Yeah, cheapskates. Reminds me of the tables they set up at some colleges. Last time I saw one, I was still "in" (but turning and beginning to head out). There was one conversation I overheard (just stood back, I knew the bros at the table), a fellow philosophy student was just ripping the sh*t out of the 2 bros at the table, cut their statements to ribbons. There were several students gathered around, and this guy had great argumentative skills. When it was over, those bros looked like idiots.

  Who were the apostates I once saw?

  there was talk the other day of "modern day apostates" which made me think back to the pre-internet days at conventions where we used to get leaflets sprung on us by what i then presumed to be apostates.

  who are the apostates of the 80s and 90s who used to spring leaflets on us?

  are they now on the net with us modern day apostates?

  Ballistic, thanks for the reminder.

  Back in the late 70's, not too long before I was first df'd, I was walking out to the parking lot from a DA at the Seattle Kingdome, and there was a guy handing out leaflets. I took one and started talking with him. One "brother" walked by and told me "Don't you know he's an apostate?" I said, "Yeah, so what?" LOL @ the look on bro's face!

  After I was reinstated, yet another DA at Kingdome, and protesters were all over the place. Talking with some folks I'd known for many years, they said "Isn't it disgusting what those people outside are doing?" I said "Well, they're no different from us, just out there proclaiming what they believe to be the truth." LOL @ the looks on their faces!

  Well, one thing led to another, and another, and another, and here I am, FREE AT LAST!

  I had my e-mail locked for about the first week, until I got comfortable with the forum. Haven't had any problems with unwelcome mail at all...the few dozen I've received have all been very welcomed.

  One thing: I'm d'f'd and never going back, so I have nothing to fear about being "discovered." In fact, I was thinking about asking Simon to change my handle to "CraigM"....aw, but what the heck. Everybody would have to get to know me all over again! LOL
