We have gotten to an absurd point. We now have nationally televised boxing matches between women, which is an abomination.
So, "televised" boxing matches between men...is NOT an abomination???
This author is using unfounded segregation of the sex to make an opinion.
We have young girls turning out for their high school football teams, which is worse.
Worse? Worse then what? An athletically gifted person trying out for a Home Economics class instead? Again...segregating sexes. Okay for boys, but not for girls.
We have young girls swaggering around basketball courts as though a team doctor has been giving them testosterone injections.
As opposed to those NBA-NCAA male basketball stars, MOST of them who DO swagger around WITH steriod injections. Please notice the author did say "AS THOUGH a team doctor has been giving...".
Problem here is, the author's view of how the female sex is to be attractive is whether it's in his realm of opinion on what is "feminine". Apparently a woman with a toned body, or muscular look doesn't float his boat, and doesn't consider this accetable.
The fact that many women's athletic departments at secular universities are hotbeds of lesbianism is not a coincidence. Much of what goes on in the name of wholesome athletic activity is actually dedicated to the recruiting and training of lesbians.
Oh man, here we go again. Another dipsh*t who probablly realizes the stupidity in their opinion, half way thru writing an argument, appends the "It's a Gay issue"-- to reaffirm their ignorant opinionated article. [sarcasm] Watch out, the University athletic programs are catered to dykes, watch out! [end sarcasm]
What the HELL does sexual preference have to do with SPORTS???? Author=Moron
Christians need to understand that it is not possible to have a large part of our lives dedicated to the blurring of distinctions between male and female, and then turn around expecting those distinctions to flourish in the other parts of our lives. We will not maintain distinctions unless we learn how, and learning how means it must be made a priority.
Oh thank you Great Teacher, pray tell, who will be the educators of this new found doctrine? You, the author? Bwahahhahhahhaha! I wouldn't allow this sexest piece of crap teach my kids how to color with crayons.
This means that if Christian parents have their daughters in any form of athletic training or competition, they have to place the highest priority on teaching their daughters how this activity relates to their calling as Christian women.
Do you hear that "Christian" parents?? Well? Do Ya? This guy want's your daughters to be boxom, curvey, and dainty. So that his eyes will not be offeneded by what he considers non-feminine. Also, God Forbid...your daughters may become competitive. Strong body leads to a strong mind. He want's your daughters to be reserved, quiet,...."seen but not heard". This way, he and his sons can club your daughter over the head, and drag her off by the hair much more easily. Also, if he or his sons are butt ugly, women will not have that "competitive" fram of mind ...and find some one much more appealing.
Further, they must ensure that it does relate. It is also incumbent on any young woman involved in any sport to be able to articulate why she is there. It is necessary for her to be able to say how her style of play, how her approach to competition, differs markedly from how boys compete.
Oh...my...GOD!
Author's paraphrase: Girls should not play sports like boys...because, well, doh! They're girls. And that's my argument. Yep yep. Yeeehaaaw.
[Please show the author the consideration of compassion, he is failing in his argument, and is now grasping for some "point" to this article. Either that, he had too much of the sacramental wine, is in the wrong state of mind to be writing such humorous drivel.]
If she cannot do this, then it is spiritually dangerous for her to be where she is. If she does not have a biblical reason for pursuing the activity, she is not left with no reason, she is left with an unbiblical reason. The fact she is confused about that reason does not mean it is absent.
Biblical reason??? So, an argument we can use here is:
Mary mother of Jesus never played basketball, or ran track, or played baseball...do you really think your daughter should? Well? DO YA? HUH?
People, at this moment, I have tears of laughter running down my face while reading and responding to this author's pile o' crud. Not only does the author FAIL in providing any BIBLICAL examples or scripture, but sorely reveals that this article is entirely the OPINION of the author's view of role of the sexes.
When a girl is thrown into such situations without direction, it can leave her insecure in the last place where she should be left insecure—her femininity.
And damn it, HE should know how these situations can leave HER insecure in HER FEMINITY. Beacause, damn it, HE'S A MAN and KNOWS BETTER about such feminin issues. LOL! Can he also empathize and give his expertise opinion on the issue of menstral pain as well? Another article in the future perhaps?
Not surprisingly, it is the responsibility of fathers to prevent this kind of sexual damage from occurring, and to address it responsibly if it has already started to happen. But this responsibility cannot be assumed if all the father wants is a list, and writes in asking what sports are bad for girls? Such a list is possible—sumo wrestling would be on it—but mechanical application of such lists would not fix anything. Fathers who do not love, comfort, praise, encourage, and teach cannot fix their problem by moving their daughters around on the basis of a list. All they would get is a change from having a daughter who did not know why she was on the football team to a daughter who did not know why she was in the kitchen.
The author's plea to all you "Christian" fathers. LISTEN CAREFULLY!
Author's paraphrase: "FATHERS(MEN)! This feminism idea has gotten outta control! Supress your daughters! They are interfering with my idea of what is appropriate for women in this world! Athletic women are a threat to me! Please help me out! I'm a scrawny little guy, with my masculinity being compromised by the opposite sex! Help! Help!"
At the same time, we must learn to think like Christians, and consistently make distinctions. We should challenge what the world says, and be willing to modify our behavior based upon what the Scriptures require of us. And when it comes to our daughters in sports, there is a lot to modify.
I'd rather challenge what the author says in this article.
I am thinking like a "Christian" and accepting my fellow humans to be capable in any persuit they endevor in, including sports. And regardless if one has a penis or vagina...has nothing to do with ones achievements in the athletic or intellectual departments of one's life. It's a matter of Mind and Heart.
I challenge not what the "world" says, but what the author is saying here. Scriptures tell me, that the author is FULL OF CRAP!
And I will NEVER "modify" my daughter to fit the author's warped-screwed-up-caveman-mentality, to please his insecurities.
