  Which is worlds most civilized nation?

  which is worlds most civilized nation?.

  what do you reckon, if there is indeed such a thing as the most civilized country.. to be civilized means:cause to improve from a savage or primative form of human society to a more developed one.. so that rules out any country that allows its inhabitans to run round armed to the teeth.. the country would need good standards of living, and education.. laws that allow maximun freedoms without impinging too much on other people.. good safty codes and regulations and good care for elderly .. so who is doing it best in the world at the moment?.

  "Civilization" or to be "Civilized" is an issue that comes from a pre-determined philisophical point, from one's culture and society. One groups "civility" can be viewed as "savage" by another.

  It's a "point of view" issue. All nations and tribes of the world are "civilized", and yet at the same time they are not. Some societies equate Art and Architecture to be examples of civilization. Others equate Morality. Others equate Social/Political values....etc. etc. Get it? :)

  I think in our modern era of communication and knowledge, I believe it would be a benifit to humanity to pretty much drop the "civilization" debates. It tends to "exclude" when it's "inclusion" we as humans, are in great need of. Find the strength in our diversities, not the superiority.

  i find the jw belief on the properness of surrogate mothers to be rather silly.. .

  while discussing the current state of affairs re: pedophilia in the catholic church with a friend, i started talking about the same situation within the jws.

  she asked me, what do the two have in common that makes it possible for molestations to be covered up and denied?

  in short, what do they have in common that has allowed them to get away with it for so long?.

  When I finally jumped outta the "box" and started to analize the WTBTS, I concluded that they are nothing more then a shadow on the sidewalk to the Catholic Church, a distorted reflection of it. Sure, there are those conflicting and opposite views of doctrine and theology. Yet, WTBTS "mimicks" the actions of the Catholic Church.....from the frickin DARK AGES. It's something political about it, on social and clergy areas.

  I really can't put a finger on it, nor want to bore all of you with long winded explanation of mine. But to put it in terms; If the WTBTS was to look in to a murky mud puddle, it would see the Catholic Church as it's reflection.

  Vulgarity? Where? I seen no "vulgarity" here. The man is speaking the truth. Then again, truth is "vulgarity" to some. Like the GB perhaps? You know...the big "GB"...or "glorious ones" as most R&F call them? Those "select" group of MEN who are the head of a so-called ONE AND ONLY SPIRIT DIRECTED "JEHOVAH'S" organization? Who PREY upon the ignorant..who PREY upon the lives of children in need of blood tranfusions...

  What's more vulgar here? The language, or the fact that some HUMANS from NY destroying families? Which is the greater vulgarity? The GB who endorse the ideology of bloodguilt, yet when it comes to saving the life of a child...it's "magically" different?

  Sometimes...language needs a good KICK IN THE ASS to get a point across...to reveal how vulgar the "TRUTH" is.

  Ah yes, I humbly admit, as to the "board rankings" the ever ellusive title of Jedi is a long way off...

  Yet, I'm a huge Sam L. Jackson fan. I thought of getting Pulp Fiction pics...but, after he got involved with Star Wars (hey, I was 7 when the Ep. IV came out---I'm a fanatic) it's hard to resist not using Mace Windu. A bit more "brighter" character then the one in Pulp Fiction. :)

  Does anyone REMEMBER the article in NOVA about the first successful FUSION reaction...it was about a decade ago. Then, about 5 years ago there was an article on the first FUSION reactor that was built and was successful?

  I'm studying cultural anthropology...this stuff is way outta my league and field of knowledge. In other words, I really don't know diddly about it, in an intimate sense. But, I remember the article mentioning that FUSION has no inherent dangers, opposed to Nuclear Fission. Fusion creates greater power output, and is by far a lot safer. From what I recall.

  Crap....now I have to go on an info hunt. But if anyone has better knowledge on the FUSION stuff, please post it.
