So i've basically apostasized to a wit-friend who thinks i'm spiritually lost (i've been deliberately fading for nearly a year).
She has invited me to share with her my questions and doubts (i didn't confirm that my questions had already been answered or that all my doubts have been dispelled) in attempt to provide me with evidence.
The only one i have shared thus far is about 607BCE. So she has asked me to provide her with secular evidence that would support the error of this date.
It appears that a friend of mine has whisked my CoC book from my home and i was going to extrapolate the quotes and publications from there.
If any of you have it handy, can you let me know which books R. Franz used?
I've perused the beliefs and doctrine threads, but it was getting a lil' tedious.
thanks muchly,
Cal.

Cannabis vs Alchohol and Other Man Made Pharmacuticals
by OpenFireGlass inwell for starters i do have a prescription for cannabis (insomnia / depression).... why would i want to take pharmacuticals for insomnia/depression?
i mean, what if i get prescribed/addicted to a pill, that one day i might not be able to afford?
(if you/i grow cannabis it's more/less free)... now the moral issue... who is more likely to beat the shit out of their kids?

"Hippie flip"... is that a canadian-term? do they not use that world-wide?
anyway, if you ever come my way, i'll be sure to take care of you whether you're an old hippie or a new one. but i must admit, i do prefer the old hippies!!

yet again, i have not read all the posts... (come on, there were 5 PAGES!!!).
cannabis? i've never had a bad experience. never smoked so much i ended up throwing up bile for 8 hours. never sped over the speedlimit. never felt aggressive, angry or afraid. well... paranoid, yes, but that's different and besides, that's when you hippie flip, right? ahhhhhh yes.
and one last thought, everytime i hang out with those that drink, i'm always documenting how loud and aggresive they are. they bring me down from my high. not good. so, i don't hang out with them very often. and that solved that.

Panic attacks and Jehovahs Witness!
by Gill inhow many of you had panic attacks when you were a jw and when leaving?
i know of many jw women and a few men who suffered badly with panic attacks.
since recently having another spate of panic attacks i suddenly realised that i had been having them all my life.

i still have panic attacks, definitely not as often as when i was in. but the attacks are possibly due to the fact that i have chosen the fading route, which certainly leads to much anxiety.

i have something similar to an attack after doing shrooms (but that's an entirely different topic and those are mostly known as "gremlins" - :).

AND, i had a friend that had panic attacks her whole life. she would black out, shake violently, have a childhood memory, then wake up. no one was ever really around every time she had an "episode"... then at 39, she was finally diagnosed with epilepsy and all the while they weren't panic attacks... interesting eh?
-

I too, need guidance
by Wineskin Cowboy ini am a newb here and have spent some time considering the effect on impressionable minds of the bizarre cult that is the jay dub "religion".
mind you, i could be said to have a flea in my ear.. strange coincidence that i should not only be in the same state( geographically, not mind) and city as the esteemed duality known as dr jekyll, but living a mere 4 houses away from a kingdom hall actually "quick built" by my deeply disturbed ex father in law and his young pioneer daughter whom i was silly enough to marry.. i believe that it is one of life's great ironies that the joyless f**ks come out to play on memorial night when there is always a full moon.
i have always been tempted to eat the effing wafers and howl my annointedness at it.. and don't get me started on the whole "translation from original greek and aramaic texts" thing done by a committee of elders who spoke neither greek nor aramaic.. more later..

welcome wineskin...
so, i take it, you're not going to the memorial?
or will you play out the fantasy: drop the bread on the floor by "mistake" and drink the wine.
oooooh, so bad....
(wink)
