THE ELDERS JUST CALLED US, NEED HELP

the elders just called us.

one called and another one got on the phone first to ask if my husband would meet with them.

my husband told them he had nothing to say, and if they are going to make any announcement from the platform that slanders our name in any way we will sue them personally, and if we do meet with them we would only do it if our lawyers come and to tell jr brown and mario marino to come also.

If friends decide to shun you, were they truly friends or just acquaintenances at the KH? Personally, I would just tell them to put their Judicial Hearing where the sun don't shine.

When the elders set me up, I did just that. I sent a three page letter using quotes from the Bible, Watchtower Literature and especially the Elders Manual showing why I did not honor their committee. I never heard anything back until I mailed my DA letter and forgot to sign it.

Still I am getting shunned, especially by my step kids. But, they are learning the hard way about biting the hand that feeds. They wish to live without TV, computer, snacks, phone and other things teens enjoy, it doesn't bother me. In fact, it costs me less. I just save the goodies for me and enjoy them in front of them. Too bad they decided to shun me and not speak to me. But, their choice.

Oh, and the KH isn't supplying them with any of it, either.

New Study All Over Again?

i'll be moving soon to a new city about 300 miles from here.

i'm so tempted to wait, just like a spider, on the jws to come by with their current offer and get all "interested" in what they say.

then get myself a study.

How about going through the whole thing and when getting ready to step in the pool to be dipped, ask the attending elder, who will be all smiles and grins, "Does it matter that I was once DF'd/DA'd?"

I have to think the big grin would go sour rapidly.

I just finished reading Red Bird Down, written by a pilot I flew with in Vietnam. I am currently ready HUnter Killer Squadrons, written by another pilot from Vietnam, but one I didn't know. Both are about Air Cavalry Operations in Vietnam and are helping me further understand what I was doing over there, besides being used for target practice.

As to what I listen too, pretty much anything, especially 60s oldies.

Will you go to the memorial

i have never missed a memorial in 20 years of being a jw, but this year will be the first one i miss because i refuse to set foot in any kingdom hall.

i was wondering how many that post here will attend the memorial and if so why?.

do you feel pressured into going by family or friends?.

I went for a couple years after going inactive, but I will never go again. I went mostly to please the wife, but now, since she is sticking up more for the dubs than for me, the hell with her. I can have stale crackers and cheap wine any time. All I have to do is pray over it first, right?

Guilt over Self-Pleasuring as a Dub. You?

i'm wondering if any of you suffered major guilt over getting yourself off while a dub.

or did you all manage to abstain until you left?

i know it was one of the main reasons i left.

In my experiences in life, there are two types people who haven't engaged in the practice. Both are liars. As to feeling guilt over it, maybe if you decide to "bop the baloney" a few times a day, I might be inclined to believe you have a problem. But, an occassional visit to "Rosey Palmer and her four daughters" can't really do harm, in my opinion. After all, since all teens have a fairly active sex drive, placed there at creation, I believe, wouldn't the occassional self release of those pent up emotions be better than actually engaging in what is considered a gross sin?

On another note, A funny story about my 15 year old JW step-son. At the time, he was about 13. I used to have this little habit of sneaking into the bathroom and catching whever was in their by surprise by throwing a glass of cold water over the shower curtain, but note the step-daughters, for obvious reasons.

Seems the last time I pulled it on him, I caught him a compromising predicament. As I gently opened the bathroom door, so he wouldn't hear me, I notice him standing in the shower doing you knw what. Well, I'm not one to let a good joke go to waste. So, he got the ice water anyway. Boy, did he yell and screech and shrivel up, fast!

What I found even funnier, was he threw back the shower curtain to give me what for, and lo and behold, there stood his mother, watching the whole thing. OOPS!!!

Did it stop him? No, it certainly did not and it wasn't intended to. But, I guess the devil made me do it, right????

Contrarian Ideas

maybe it is because i am left handed, first born and received contrarian ideas during my education, but i see some things differently than many here.. 1. jws a cult: i don't think they are a cult.

i think they are a high control sect.. 2. brain washing: i don't believe that jws are brain washed.

i think they are indoctrinated if they came in as adults, and i think they were enculcated and enculturated, if they were raised in it.. 3. disfellowshipping: everyone says how terrible and awful it is.

Disfellowshipping: Everyone says how terrible and awful it is. Well, what did you expect? You knew the rules. You would have done the exact same thing when you were a true believer. If you get so much as a hello, you should consider yourself lucky.

Personally, I could care less if they wish to shun me, it is their loss. However, I will be damned if they will come into my house and look down their noses at me. That is why the following notice is posted on the outside of my front door:

NOTICE TO ALL
Jehovah’sWitnesses !

If your conscience dictates that you
shun and ignore the disassociated head
of this household; Then your conscience should
also dictate that you not enter the premises
or take advantage of the possessions purchased
or owned by that same disassociated head

Yes, it upsets the JW wife and her kids, but oh well! They will just have to see their dub cronies elsewhere, I guess.

Stop and think, the idea behind shunning is supposedly to help the errant one see the error of their ways. Since I DA'd over abusive treatment and not because of theology, just what is it they hope to show me by abusing me more? Freedom?

i remember one sunday sitting in the kingdom hall and, out of the blue (after looking at one of those most dreadful pictures of armageddon), sincerely asked my mother, "where are we going to go?".

my mother frankly stated, "we'll all just gather here at the kingdom hall and god's angels will protect us!"..

i continued by asking, "what's going to happen to all the dead bad people?".

You might also ask your Mom how you could gather at the Kingdom Halls when they also teach the KHs will be padlocked by the beast.

All the signs must have been present during my time of inactivity. Yet, during the five years I was inactive before DAing myself, the only "counsel" I received was more condemnation, without getting facts first. Then, none wanted to hear their inaccurate stories simply were not true.

I was tried, convicted, and condemned long before any elder came out to see me.

One was purely funny, though. He told me that they could do nothing to help me until my meeting attendance and service hours were back up. I laughed and said they were down because of the problem they gave me when I was condemned unfairly. I took the comments as a fix it yourself and we will take credit for it. Well, I wonder if they took credit and felt good when they got the DA letter?

you have not raised your child as one, you have not had to sign a virtual death warrant for your child by refusing blood!!

What offended me was being told it is okay to stand respecfully while the Pledge of Allegiance is recited, as long as you don't participate. Yet, when the National Anthem is played, remain seated. Now, what the devil is the difference? If it is alright to be respectful towards the flag, why be rude towards the National Anthem?

I think the old men in Brooklyn work over time thinking of ways to get the rank and file beat up, or at least, to embarrass the hell out of the children.

the jw organization is clearly inquisitional and demon-inspired.

their inventing "new light" is actually how satan works -- by transforming himself into an angel of light, different kinds of "light" according to the circumstances.. even the catholic church does not treat people as severely as jw's, with their shunning and disfellowshipping (at least now that the inquisition has been over for some time).. won't it be good if we all can see her waters dry up totally.

Sorry if I sound nit-picking, Bruce, but that particular quote you mention is attributed to P.T. Barnum. ( just read where he didn't even say it, but his competitor did). W.C. Fields is attributed with saying, "Never give a sucker an even break."
