  Did you ever get any "Bad Advice" from Elders or Ministerial Servants?

  i remember once, an elder told me that i could become a full time pioneer.

  i was working 40 hours a week, and had a seasonal job 7 months a year.. the way he figured it out, i could work 8 hours during my day, then go to my meetings, and still find 3 or 4 hours to preach that same day...... i told him to go climb a tree.

  Well... While my first mariage was going down the sewage drain I took a chance and sought "comfort" from the c.o at that time. He tried though, I can't be mad at him. He said " The reason why your relationship isn't working is because one or both of you is not following bible principles. Son, take the time to go out in the field with her to improve your hours". At that time she was gone all day into the night for what ever doing her own thing , PLUS we never had sex for 1 %$%^ year! I told him that, and he looked at me like this! In fact ALL the elders looked at me like that.

  When did it dawn that parents are fallible?

  how old were you when you realized that your parents were fallible and, that lastest slap you got was unjust?

  for me i realised at about 9 years old, neither of my parents understood fairness.

  in my family there were the haves and the have nots.

  When I noticed things that were questionable with the borg and tried to reason with them. Even showing them from the publications the flip-flops. Not forcefully, just innocently. They clicked into a whole other mode. then I realized they were normal people that were hurt by the outside world, and escaped to the org. Then raised me in it... thanks folks, really

  i'm d/f for about 2 years and my dad ( an elder ) hasn't spoke with me since, my mom sometimes talk to me , but i always have to call her , just to see how's she's doing, and guess what, when she answer her phone is : oh, i was preeching!!!.

  they're always preeching, but my brother contact me today telling me that we can speak again due to the fact that i'm d/f , what do you guys think?

  To answer that question, imo... whenever a "religion" comes between your flesh and blood, and your right to medical treatment;your right to live. Do you really have to ask? I'm sorry ' bout how your situation, hopefully they will change. I hope for the best. Stick around for awhile. It's helping me.

  What's The Difference Between A "Worldy Person" & JW???

  None taken I STROVE to have an independent personality, which is really noexistent in dubland. All that comes to mind right now is that movie "The Village". When I saw that movie, I knew that I had to dissapear.All I had to do is look around me and see the difference. Also when my dad said "Well.. we just CAN'T blow off steam like "worldly people" though, son." Ya know... you gotta wonder why.

  What gets me IS that type of reasoning. I my mind and others if the "truth" can't hold up to it, then what is it? Really? What is it? I could see it now... Then next public talk. "Then dangers of Myspace" Knowing damn well that 90% of dub youths I know is on that site on the low low.So funny...

  I agree w/ java on that one. It's soooo bizarre. If you put me in a room with a bunch of people, in some weird way I could spot a dub WAY across the room. The difference? hmm... one HAS freedom while the other "claims" to have "true" freedom. IMHO.

  Just wanted to drop a line and say "hi". I too am a long time lurker that "came out" sort of speaking. (' bout 2 yrs!) It was funny how I came across this site. One day when I was at the complete bottom and wanted answers regarding how things are with this belief and why was i feeling that something was just not right. So, I put in a google search for ct russell and BOOM! there it was. And the rest was all she wrote. then came disbelief, then anger, then panic attacks. so much happened within this period, I was more than burned. I was mind screwed 3 ways from sunday. i even read old posts which were helpful some made me laugh, then brought me to the brink of tears in relation to others situations. Right now that I feel like I'm unpluged from "mother" I see things VERY differently...which scares me since i'm in too deep in a way. So..I look forward to posting away. Take care.
