  I often wonder if those who have left the JW's - after realizing they had a delusion about the organization, have thought about applying that experience to the belief of god?

  Yes, once the cat is out of the bag there ain't no going back.

  By the way, I'm currently reading Dawkins' "Greatest Show On Earth," also a good read. When I finish, I'm going to go find my old copy of "Did Man Get Here By Evolution or Creation?". Remeber that old blue book, from the late 1960s I think.

  it's appalling how little about armageddon jehovah's witnesses know.. first of all, if we experience a societal breakdown in the united states, chances are no one here will even know it's happening.

  people in jerusalem will know it's happening because a huge international army will begin amassing in the valley of har-megiddon to the north of the city.

  but before that can happen, the jews must build their temple as described in ezekiel, and two prophets must be called who can keep those forces at bay.

  i have never understood the watchtower's explanation of the rich man and lazarus story jesus told in luke 16. of course, they don't believe jesus is talking about what happens in an "afterlife" after people die.. but from the watchtower's point of view:.

  1. who are the five brothers?.

  2. why can't lazarus go witness to them?

  This is all ultimately much ado about nothing. If Jesus was who he was purported to be, why didn't he just give it to us straight? What's with all the parable bullshit anyway? It's all a sad, sorry, time-wasting joke.

  Thinking that demons speak to use through the Ouija board is as stupid as thinking that god speaks to us through the bible.

  The lawyers and money people have the real power and make the real decisions, then pull the GB strings.

  Do we know the names of these lawyers and money people? Are they making out like bandits?

  My guess is that there is a "man" behind the curtain, and it ain't Jehovah.

  The Cake version of "I Will Survive" is pretty cool.

  In a related note, I've noticed that I've never really heard a bad Beatles cover. Their songs are so great that it's hard to f one up. (Not that I've heard them all, of course.)
