Dare I say Bruce?
I really do like most of his early work (Born to Run, Darkness On The Edge of Town), but I just can't buy into the Boss Mythology that followed Born In The U.S.A.
what are the ones that sound like fingernails on the blackboard, the ones that make you want to pull the gun out from under the seat and shoot the radio in your car?.
a few of mine:.
spirit in the sky.

There once was a man named Fred
"Stay alive 'till '75," he said
It's been a long wait
And still no Big A
How long has that dumb-ass been dead?
just saw this pop up at the fuentes' forum extjforum.com.
http://www.extjforo.com/foro/showthread.php?t=15473 .
it's a scan (you can thank iloowy for the scan) of the march 15, 2010 watchtower where there's a picture of a radiant sun of a wt logo along with a tm mark right next to a paragraph that says 'they "will shine as brightly as the sun"' (matthew 13:43).. .
March 15, 2010? How far in advance do they write this shit?
looking thru the feb 2010 watchtower i noticed that the society has done a little white wash of the past by not mentioning the book 'millions now living will never die' only mentioning the earlier talk using the word 'may'.. perhaps because rutherford stated " i want the statement millions now living will never die to be taken literally, as it is, in the light of fullfilled prophecy, a provable biblical proposition" they dont want the r&f to know of the book nor its grandiose pronouncment.. 8 .
the anointed followers of christ havebeen extending the invitation since as far.
back as 1918. in that year, the public talk.
That book has been revised with a new title, for 2010 summer release: Millions Now Dead Will Never Live Again
i just don't understand.
i was raised a jw, believed the whole line of bullshit, hook, line, and sinker.
after leaving i still believed in the bible.
Even though this is now essentially a dead thread, I feel compelled to add this: In no way does evolution state that two monkeys produced a human.
i've recently been invited to attend an alpha course at my local baptist church and for the last 2 weeks i've gone along.
its all been very amiable and pleasant until this week.
the subject was "why and how should i pray?
Since the original question in the post concerned prayer...
here's all you need to know about prayer: http://whywontgodhealamputees.com/
just finished listening to "last date" by floyd cramer.
what a great tune!
i also love music box dancer and pretty much anything by the ventures.
"Theme From Boat Weirdos" by Joe Walsh (on the 1978 LP "But Seriously Folks...").
[IMHO, Joe is the second coolest guy around.]
this is a question for the guys on this board.
i have seen and read so many cases where very succesful men throw their careers, relationships and reputations away over a bit of booty.
is there some tipping point in a males setup that causes the lower head to completely overrule any and all of the directions from the upper one?
Evolution explains everything -- everything!
i am 25 years old now and work in a manufacturing and distribution facility.
when i was a kid, i always thought adults acted "old" and were usually wakled the straight and narrrow line.
but now that i have been in the workplace for a few years, i am shocked at how "high school" things still are.
That's one of the shocks of growing up -- realizing that everyone is just winging it and always has been.
