the watchtower claims that jesus inspected the churches in 1919 and chose the watchtower to represent god on earth, based upon the spiritual food they were dispensing at that time.. .

Two observations:
1) The Finished Mystery is such an accidentally ironic title. Modern JW readers will indeed finish the mystery of their whacked-out religion.
2) Being an ex-JW is just too much fun sometimes. Everyone should become a JW, read the FM, then drop out, just to share our joy.

funny part is, they all applied to population, the amount of people.. is there any part of the bible that talks about how jehovah kept a log of hours on some occasion?

of the congregation i spent my life in i would say a good 75% had nervous breakdowns at some point.
and often there was never really a obivous reason for it.
well not that we jw's could understand at the time.. even the queen bee's/ elderettes were not immune to this.. what about you?.
I don't know about a bonafide nervous breakdown, but I went through some serious depression during my teen years (1970's era). Undiagnosed and untreated, of course. Looking back, I think I unknowingly used music as a self-treatment.
for those who are interested, the following changes were announced yesterday at the agm.
1) mts school has been done away with.
a) in its place two new schools have been formed.
The leadership is lost - they need a new Freddy to give some impetus and a new Knorr to give direction.
You would think there would be no shortage of loonies to fill the vacuum.

this isn't a 'prove god exists' thread, it's a 'what if' thread .
what if god's existence could be proven beyond any doubt?
what if god were to actually show himself so that nobody could doubt his existence?.
I'd examine the proof and adjust my beliefs accordingly.

i've been learning a bit about the early jews perspective on prayer and how it applied to jesus' model prayer in matthew 6. it's facinating to me.
sometimes i forget how important prayer is to the christian in more than just asking for things and thanking god for things.
i wanted to list a few perspectives the jews had on prayer and how we can benefit from it.. fist, they thought prayer should incorporate love and praise.
NiceDrean: My point (or part of it) is that praying for someone is the same thing as doing nothing to help them.
