Ah once again Arthur brings us a bit of common sense thinking. The scriptures were written applying to that set of circumstances then ,but as always the WTS brings everything forward to today and gives it an extreme viewpoint which forces their adherents to reject Christ and hate the Jehovah Witness way....which is not THE WAY.

Lithium?
by spoils_useful_habits inrecently one of my brothers was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder by a psychiatrist.
this has hit me hard emotionally because out of the whole bunch we are the closest.
i've always suspected something was up.

I'm bi-polar and never been offered Lithium though I've known about it's use for this condition for a long time. Maybe the doctors here don't like to use it much here ,even when hospitalised they usually treat us inmates with normal anti -depression drugs.
Because I've been this way most of the last 40 years I've tried alot of different meds but never Lithium ,maybe I should try and ask my doctors ,but Effexor-XR works pretty good for me now but it is definitely addictive as when you cut down the withdrawals are terrible. I avoid alchohol etc which unfortunately is a weakness for a lot of patients and does'nt mix well with anything.
But my drug of choice is definitely ,what I call auntie V ,Diazapam , mmmmm come and comfort me auntie I'm feeling a little tense ,can you make it go away?

SUBJECTION within the marraige - it would always amuse me how it was the same elders covering this usually ,and to watch certain sisters squirm in their seats and then reach deep down into that theocratic pool within and put their hands up and make that supreme sacrifice of a textbook comment theocratically ,all the while mincing inside - "oh what wonderful sacrifices we sisters make for Jehovah!"
And the men silently shuffling paper or elders going into their huge kingdom hall bags as a question on subjection is fired at the congregation....and then one finally relents with a deep voiced answer equally theocratic but then softened on the edges so his wife does'nt turn off the sex tap for a month

Computer Geeks, help me format my hardrive...........please!
by ButtLight inok, i have a copy of windows xp.........and a floppy that wont work when i boot..........so i was told to reboot, and hit f2 and change the booting sequence..........that doesnt work either..... it just keeps rebooting in normal mode.
any one wanna help?.

Try holding down the F2 key when you first boot and hold it down even if it makes a ticking sound ,then arrow up to safe mode with c:/ prompt and press enter . This gives a page with the heading CMD.exe and then type format X: where x is the name of the drive you format.Hope it works

To answer this one would need to look at every case that has happened and I think the full picture would appear shockingly. I think that most cases of molestation don't get to the surface ,hidden under the effects of the influence of the governing bodies methods of running the worlwide organisation.
People are afraid to come forward in the "world" ,let alone in a religious environment like that of JW's where shame is silently encouraged and the heavy emphasis on Jehovahs name being effected by reports of molestation .Silence on these matters is encouraged indirectly from the GB thru layers of different people to the effect that victims are taught that waiting on Jehovah is a good principle that victims need to develop to be good christians despite what they've been thru.
This problem with molestation is common to all churches and they have responded the way they have wherever they are in a good or bad way ,but the governing body in it's usual attempts not to be seen as doing things the same way as "Christendom" have put in place a seemingly silent policy hidden thru the layers of authority to the point that people from within the rank and file don't even see that they've got an issue in this area. They can't grasp that Jehovah would actually allow molestation to happen in the perfect JW organisation ,so they are in denial.
You know my wife cried out to Jehovah time and again when she was little as her Elder father molested her for years, even once finishing a talk ,leaving the platform and leaving halfway to take my wife home when she was little and forcing sex on her when they got home ,leaving the rest of the family at the meeting to get home in one of their other cars. Do you think an active witness can accept that Jehovah would actually let this happen? Most can't and don't want to hear about it for fear of challenging their faith ,and in like manner this is how Jehovahs Witness policy on molestation has developed - Jehovah would not let this happen , it is too shocking!
That's why we have been confronted by idiot elders etc reasoning that they can't accept the testimony of a victim because if they did some poor innocent person might get DF'd for molestation when they did'nt do it.! How's that for Borg policy ,for the sake of extremely rare cases of a so called victim lying that someone molested them all the genuine victims must suffer ! What a lame cop-out. In these instances I have confronted them with the reasoning that if this is really Jehovahs people and his spirit is with the Elders handling cases of reported molestation ,then would'nt you know a victim well enough in most cases ,and known them for a time , to make a decision on whether the victim is a liar.And consider that the pain of bringing this forward is extremely difficult and that there is stuff all to gain in lying about such a thing.
When and if my wifes father is put in jail there is no reward for the years of distress ,it can't be taken away, only her childhood is and the fact that she never had a proper loving mother and father. Her bros and sisters have turned against her and most of the family are JW's in good standing when at least two others of the girls have been molested but refuse to come forward and hatefully reject my wife . Why would anyone lie about this sort of thing?
So what's wrong with Borg policy - well if you stop looking at the legalistic black and white on paper view of it's policies and just look at the destruction it does to peoples lives who can no longer sit in the same halls as their perpetrators and their families knowing they all appear to be good people and the other congo members think the sun shines out of them ,yet they are what they are ,lying molestors that are kept in the congos hidden amongst the innocent by Watchtower policy.
My wife and I have spent years fighting to bring her hypocritical molestor to some form of justice within the Borg ,in the beginning hoping to help him confess so he would be saved , but now we have to go to the legal system because he commited crime after crime and we want the rest of her family to be put on notice that their children need protecting from him . But sadly I think that some have already been got at.
We only wish we had not just put our trust in this terrible org and taken all these years till we went to the police ,we're pretty sure at least one of my wifes nieces was done and the girls father sought advice on a help line which was recorded (we found this out by an unconventional method).Needless to say the family got to him and hushed him up. And this is just one case - multiply this by whatever over the last 130years - how long does it take to get it right ,how can victims be expected to have fellow worship with their perpetrators, yes we left.

When I read Acts ch2 it reads that it was an event orchestrated by God thru his holy spirit to demonstrate his approval of this select group of people. The tongues spoken of are plainly the ability to speak the said languages of the people that were in attendance as a witness to them that ordinary folk who could not normally speak the languages of the foreign Jews and proselytes ,could now by gods gift do this to the amazement of some in attendance ,and yet some just thought they were drunk because they just simply did not understand the languages being expressed or the message being given by the people given the gift on that occasion, or the exuberance expressed by such a miraculous gift not before seen.
After all what were the things spoken of ,and why is it later spoken of as not wise to speak in this manner unless someone was there to interpret. Ones who claimed to have this gift that I have spoken to over the years put more emphasis on the languages used are the languges of angells ,but when shown Acts they go into diversion mode when confronted by the actual scripture quoting the languges spoken at Pentacost.
I've known many ,and was told by them that many who claimed to have this gift today,including themselves actually did drugs ,fornicated etc- when challenged about this they would go into cognitive dissonance mode not unlike JW's when challenged about the crap they believe from their own literature which proves to be false.
My ex-wife one day in field service with a group was confronted by a man using a "tongue" in the street ,when she challenged him to explain what the said it was the usual language of angells stuff ,but then she asked where is your interpretter to benefit the group from what he just uttered. He said he did'nt have anyone ,so she asked him then whether he made the mistake or the Holy spirit? If he made the mistake then how then was he able to speak in the language of angells?
That's the way to cut thru the Pentecostal bullshit!
As regards the timing of the gifts and how long they should last I would venture to say they only lasted as long as the contemporary people of the Pentecost time lived in the sense that the end of the Jewish system finished in a physical sense by the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE. Seems reasonable to me to conclude then that the gift of tongues had run it's course by that time ,achieving what it was meant to ,the physical evidence that gods spirit had shifted to the christian congo.
I'm here only using the reasoning available from the bible and real world experiences ,not searching the internet with what this or that scholar from this or that century says.
