That fits them to a "T" Drew! And also, they made their own Bible, too! Then they check themselves against that to see how they measure up.

JW's in a nutshell
by drew sagan inlast night i was reading a book and i came across an illustration that fits this circumstance well.
a young boy at sunday school learns the story of david and goliath.
at home that afternoon the boy comes to his mother and says "i'm as big as goliath".

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 5-14-06 WT Study (CHRISTIAN BAPTISM)
by blondie in(b) what questions will we now consider?.
a good relationship.
is the relationship of the other sheep as close as the anointed with god (or jesus)?.

"We were alienated from Jehoopla before our baptism..." so, is an unbaptized publisher alienated from Jehoopla? What about an "approved associate?" How about a regular study? Double talk at it's finest!

Kind of an update - warning, kw = boring. you were warned!
by KW13 inwell er, i have tried to get mum to discuss several things.
firstly i brought up the lack of evidence to support god wanted an org.
her response reflected what was going on upstairs in her brain.

Now, don't put yourself down, KW! Don't judge your worth by JW standards. Just because you aren't worth alot to them, who cares? By normal standards, you are a very good person!
So there to your Mum, lol! Carry on, dude!

Pro-education and caring for the elderly! HUH!! That's why I wasn't allowed to go to college, and my elderly parents struggle to take care of their house and keep the yard mowed??
Oh, that fries my ass! I am spitting mad from reading that!

Baptismal date, do you remember?
by Jourles inyesterday was my 15th year anniversary of being baptized.
may 11, 1991. i'm not sure it counts anymore since i was df'd last feb. 3, 2005, but still, it is a remarkable period of time to pass by and reflect on what changes have occurred.. i was 18 years old.
the "internet" was barely a blip.

I think mine was at the ass-embly Hall at 79th and South Ashland in Chicago... pretty sure it was. Yeah, and the cafeteria was downstairs, grand chandeliers, and restrooms up the sweeping staircase past the murals...if ya didn't get mugged crossing the street to the fenced parking lot.

I truly don't remember the date I did the foolish deed. I've blocked it out of my mind. I wasn't very enthused about it anyway and it was embarassing getting in a swim suit as a teenage girl in front of people. I got lots of attention and praise afterwards tho, and that made me feel warm and fuzzy briefly. I think it may have been fall, and maybe 1973 or 1974, I remember it was important to get baptized before 1975 came, as I might not fall under the "umbrella of parental protection" when the angel came to mark us. The end was coming in 1975, so it was urgent to find Jehoopla's favor, and quick!

EyesOpened, I was raised in Indiana. Welcome, please stick around the forum because it's very therapeutic!
Seems like parents would stop and think: If their highly intelligent kids have left the JW's, in spite of the miserable shunning, isn't there a real good reason????
Sadly, it takes time for sunlight to pierce thru the fog. Just keep loving them. That's what I do with mine. You might even know them...

A piercing- oh, the horror of it! Surely, Brothers, what clearer indication of worshipping Satan could one give? Hahaha
