IS/ WAS YOUR CONGREGATION LIKE MY CURRENT ONE?

in the congregation i currently attend with my die-hard witness wife and my two kids, the p.o.

is a lame duck elder whom no one really respects or goes to for any counsel, advice, etc.

another elder(lives at bethel) has taken to flirting with a local sister who is seperated but not divorced from her husband.

In our Hall, and this was twenty years ago, we had:

1) Late 30's, married Ministerial Servant sleeping with 15 year old sister, both reproved

2) Late 50's married elder, whose wife refused to have sex, sleeping with his study's wife. Elder disfellowshipped, whole congregation gossiping about it, and his life ruined. Study couple quits coming to meetings.

3) Elder's family has 2 teenage boys, and a toddler. They hire teenage sister to babysit the little girl after school. Surprise! Blond sister is found in bed with one of the black teenage sons. Who was so blind as to not see the attraction to one another? Both reproved, neither is reinstated and "fall away."

4) Elder runs away with MS's wife, they get an apartment in another town. They get married. MS begins dating elder's ex-wife.

5) Elder's dissatisfied, neglected and pretty wife divorces him, and marries her boyfriend, a lawyer. Congregation is stunned! When did she meet him? Many gossip about how it's not surprising because elder worked 16 hour shifts at his job, then was always doing elder duties. She felt unloved and found someone else who spoiled her with attention. She was disfellowshipped, but do ya think she gave a rat's fanny?

Do you get stressed talking to JWs?

i am a salesman, so will talk to anyone, anytime without fear.

but for some reason, everytime i need to speak to a jw i get a huge rush of nerves.. i also am an accountant and do tax returns, and this year lost most of my jw clients.

some went to another accountant in the congregation.

Sure, they miss you at the meetings, misspeaches....and just as surely, if you went back, they'd ignore you!

New Tracts fill Recycling bins

i thought the jws would never visit my appartement bloc...but they finally did.. i came home yesterday night to find one of the new tract folded a few times and inside my mailbox.

i was really excited of course, but a bit dissapointed that i wasn't there to get it directly from them.

i looked around the other boxes, and it seems like the dubs just left one to everyone without even trying to knock.

We got ours yesterday, Nov.1. Hubby tossed it on the kitchen counter and grinned, "here's something to get you riled up, Virgochik!" I was gonna write, Watchtower, this is YOU! where it says false religion tolerates pedophiles, and mail it to Crooklyn. But too late, he'd tossed it in the trash! I can't imagine why. There it lies, beneath the coffee grounds.

Maybe there's been new light on gambling? Lots of my parents pals have gone to Vegas, "just to see the shows." Maybe the bookies can lay odds on when Armageddon's coming.

Do you get stressed talking to JWs?

I can't stomach talking to them, I get like a panic attack. I know how overbearing and pushy they can be. I'm afraid, if they had me convinced once (tho briefly!) they might fast talk me again. I just don't want anything to do with them. I'm sure some of the friendly sisters coming up the walk are sincere, but it also brings back the bad memories and the bad dreams.

Did demons ever really rape some sisters?

i had a conversation last night with someone and we were reminescing about the late 60's and early 70's about how a couple of the sisters were telling at the time that they were being molested and sometimes raped by demons.

in our cong they were told to open the bible to a certain scripture and leave the bible open to it at all times and leave a light on.

anyone else remember some of this paranoia?

There was an elder's wife at our Hall, who claimed a presence came to her, even when her husband was in bed with her. She claimed to be overwhelmingly attracted to it, and couldn't stop it from using her body to satisfy its desires. They later discovered that the grandmother, who stayed upstairs, "dabbled in spiritism" gasp! After they got rid of Grandma and her stuff, the visitations stopped. Elderette became pregnant, and the child (unfortunately) was unmistakably hubby's.

Nasty week-end weather wise

gee, this autumn isn't the best i've seen.

it's windy, rainy, cloudy, cool and a great time to stay inside today.

we didn't have any indian summer this year, and not much heat even in september.. i just hope that the snow won't get here too early this year !.

We had a nasty blizzard in the Denver area, blowing snow and whiteouts. What a wonderful day to be off, just watching out the windows and getting another mug of cinnamon coffee! That was Thursday. Friday, it was sunny and warmed up to 63 degrees. Ideal, really. Pretty snow, no dirty snow later on!

They slam the Catholics for granting annullments, so people can remarry. Only the JW's just make them wait a year, then get reinstated, and everything's forgiven. What, please, is the big difference?

have to work with a molestor venting warning

a little history--i was molested for years by my stepdad, a ms. now, i find out that my asst.

There's nothing worse than a Stupidvisor who's incompetent. I've got an ignoramus woman who can't spell to save her life, yet she's our boss, cuz she kissed butt. It doesn't do any good complaining therefore to her boss, whose gnarly ass she kisses.

Best thing we've discovered, is don't cover for these people. If they screw it up, let them fix it. If they forget to do it, oh well. Don't babysit them and remind them. Can you afford to try this, since there may be patients involved? If so, he'll quickly fall on his face, and have to shape up or ship out.

We used to go in our bosses office and remind her about her telecons and deadlines. Now, we let her do her job (or not) and we do ours.

And you can't go postal because I'M the postal employee here, lol! Sounds like it won't drag on much longer, tho...

Personality of "Anointed" JWs

did you notice any similarities in the personalities of "anointed" jws?.

did they use their anointed status for personal advantage?.

were they the most loving person you ever met?.

When I was a child, Grandma used to have me stay over some weekends with her when Grandpa worked midnights. Behind their house, was a cottage Grandpa had built for his disabled sister and her "caregiver." The caregiver claimed to be annointed. These two women had lived together for forty years, and were like a married couple. I always wondered! Anyway, the annointed sister was really scary to me, as a child. She had a wart, and was really sour and nasty, and I thought she looked like a witch. She made catty, mean comments about people, including Grandma, in her sly silky voice. They were just a wierd pair, and I dreaded the mandatory visit to say hello to them when I went to Grandma's.

Grandma didn't like them either, and muttered comments about their odd ways. She wasn't too keen about them always wanting her to cook a big meal and deliver plates to them in the back. She'd tell me just to get the hello over with so we could watch TV. I definitely never felt anything especially spiritual about Sister Annointed Caregiver.
