  on what are they spending it?

  can't be on new kingdom halls, since they "loan" the money to the congregations?

  can it really cost $950 million dollars a year to print magazines and books?

  Convention Report - Deliverance At Hand?

  so i just got back from the convention - yes, feel pity on me... i had to attend all three days, spend money on a crappy hotel, sleep in a crappy town, sit on my ass for 8 hours a day, and all just to hear about the same old crap you can read in any watchtower.

  i didn't take notes because not only would my head have exploded from the sheer boredom and stupidity, but i would be responsible for all your heads exploding as well.

  are there any highlights?

  I'd have known what to do- walk straight outta there! HOW do they keep any sisters attending, when many women are in the job force and/or have a college education? It just amazes me they're willing to submit to that crap.

  JWs Called at my House This Morning

  here it was memorial day morning, and i'm out in the front yard watering the gardens when i hear a car pulling up the driveway.

  it pulls into our section of the drive and i see it's a witness couple i know in the front seat.

  the wife is driving and they spot me right off.

  Nosferatu, your post cracked me up! Back in the day, my mom and another elderette took turns playing the piano. They got this deer in the headlights look when playing some of these clumsy ditties, and being rivals, they would snicker at each other's rendition. My mom would elbow me or dad and giggle, "She sure missed a lot of notes!" Some of the songs were so bad, the congregation would just stop singing on the rough patches and take it up later on the chorus.

  my other birthday approaches but this is the real one.

  i have seen jwd grow and change and evolve, and some of it was painful.

  Looking for some insight on why some people here do this

  i left the witness religion in 1997, and when i left i never turned back and do not even own or read any of their publications.

  i know it is wrong, beyond all doubt, so why waste my time at their meetings, conventions or assemblies.

  why read information that is known to be bias, hurtful and not very well thought out?

  I like to keep up with every bit of the latest crap they are putting out at the meetings and in the publications, because I've got elderly parents still in. I worry about them, what they're being talked into, whether they're being conned out of their money, how they're being treated. Every bit of information helps me.

  I was born and raised in the Troof, and yes, once in a while they yank my chain with "the end is coming just any second, now" trumpeting, and I find I still have some anxiety to deprogram. Blondie's analyses especially help me, for both of my purposes.

  ive used many expletives in my life, especially when ive hit my finger with a hammer!

  however, ive seen some words and expressions used recently on this board that should be edited-out in my humble opinion!

  okay, if you absolutely need to use a curse word, just put the first letter then some ***.
