Watchtower is either god or false prophet on end times
by RevFrank inend times.
before 1874 to present, the watchtower has missed dates after dates on when the lord will come again.
and when the date comes and goes away the watchtower either ignores it or blames someone else.. scripture speaks clearly on this issue.

You know that is sooo true... people even in the bible say that the end is near... but wasn't that back in B.C. times? So if they are STILL saying the end is near, isn't there something fishy about that? Because that would mean the end was near from back then. Thank goodness we didn't hold our breaths.. or else the end of our lives would've been near.

Double Lives
by Honesty in.
does the watchtower society's rules and regulations promote healthy spiritual attitudes or do they have the opposite result?.
the reason i ask is because it seems as if many jw's i know are leading dual lives.. one life around jw friends and family and another hidden life when they are in places and situations where other jw's don't see them.

I am leading a double life. Trust me, its not easy. Sometimes I even get confused and accidently say things around my parents that are meant to be said around people I go to college with. And my parnets just look at me, lol. Oh well, if they would just listen, I wouldn't have to fake.

Welcome Babs! Newbie Post!
by Sparkplug inhi ladies and gentlemen, i've been reading your comments, i am not a jw, my daughter is dating a boy at school who is a jw and he always talks about not celebrating holidays, and what they believe and don't believe because of their jw faith.
i wanted to find a website that i could see (for myself) the jw beliefs, i thought is this for real?
my family enjoys celebrating valentines day, because it is a day we go out a buy the children a rose, and a big heart box of candy, i remember as a kid it was a special treat to get a big heart, then we would save the box for special mementos and notes.

what have you learned since you left the org?
by fullofdoubtnow ini have learned so much about the org since i da'd - the truth about the un scandal, the false reasoning regarding the 1914 doctrine, how widespread a problem child abuse really is in the org, things that i would never have found out if i was still in.
i can also understand why the gb don't like jws accessing the internet, there is far too much information about the wts on there for their liking.. the most important thing i have learned, or perhaps re - learned however, is the value of true, non - conditional friendship.
for so many years i thought the jws i mixed with were my true friends, but now i know they are not.

Although I am still sort of in - I have quite a bit of distance away since I am in school. I have learned that I need to try and walk on my own two feet and rather than second guessing myself because my parents say its wrong (because of the religion). So I have learned to think for myself, which helps me so much.
I have learned to like people who are different than me and who have different beliefs. And I've learned so much more, but I can't think of it all right now.

What is the big deal about Valentines Day?
by damselfly ini don't quite understand all the "hype" and the endless questions about what my s/o is going to do/get me for the "big day".
i think diamonds are ugly, i don't like gold, flowers die and if want chocolate i'll buy it myself thanks.
honestly what i want for valentines day is for him to start being financially responsible and pick up after himself.

I agree... although I don't have a Valentine... but still... I dont think a naked baby shooting arrows is going to cure my romance difficulties, lmao.
