Do You Still Call It "The Truth"? "The Brothers" etc.
by minimus in"when i was in the truth....".
"since i left the truth"..... do you still find yourself using jw terminology?.
-
collegegirl21
No, I call it a religion. I don't let the religion affect my decisions. And I don't call them the brothers and sisters, when I'm around my parents, I just call them by their first or last name.

I will say good luck with homeschooling. I was home schooled after my freshman year of high school and I resented my parents for it because I missed the dances and prom and walking across the stage to get my diploma. If its absolutely necessary that you home school make sure that its something your kid wants to do then I wish you the best. Good luck!

How Were Intelligent "Sisters" Treated In Your Congregation?
by minimus inas a rule, i believe jehovah's witnesses treat females as sub par to the menfolk.
i knew a lot of women in the hall that were smarter than their mates.
they begrudgingly got respect from most of the elders.

When I was 16 before I DA'ed myself I corrected an Elder about something and then 3 Elders took me into the back room and told me I shouldn't do that in public. I was having no part of them telling me what to do, so when my cell phone rang, I remember answering it and telling the person who was on my phone that I was in a pointless meeting. My dad was pissed, he was in the room with me and said that was disrespectful, by that time, I just didn't care and I walked out.

Should I tell him how I feel or let it go?
by megsmomma inbrief history: my mom shuns me, my step dad is not a jw but thinks pretty much like one and called me apostate when i tried to tell him some things.
my step dad and i have never been close, he was verbally abusive to me growing up.. well, last week he and my mom fly up my ex- and his wife with my daughter (all jw's) to go boating with them and my sisters kids.
i am glad my daughter got to see her cousins....but, i am sure if they talked about me at all it was not positive talk.

I'm sorry so sorry (((((hugs)))). I agree with who are you - wait until its the right time. You are better than them and they just wanted to realize what you are "missing out on." But in actuality, you aren't missing out on anything because you wouldn't have wanted to be there especially with your ex. Good luck with whatever you do!!!!

Don't you just hate
by John Doe init when you try to flick a big booger off of your index finger but it's too sticky to come off, and you eventually end up wiping it underneath the seat?

Have you ever faked a service report?
by Orgull init's only my third day here so, go easy on me.
lol.. seriously, my new doubts have made it harder and harder to go in service.
a few months ago, when a new month rolled around, i realized that i hadn't actually gone in service at all the previous month.

I think because that stuff is so important to them that they practically force the people who don't go out to fake it because people (like me) don't want to have the MS's and the Elders down my throat about why I'm not going out. So I say I put in the hours that I think they want to hear to make them happy and even though my parents will deny it left and right I know there have been months where they have lied on their hours cause they've been sick or too tired to go out, but it would be "unspiritual" for them not to have hours.

I don't think there's ever been a service report that I've been honest on, especially the last few years...

Did someone disable the reply function on Wanderer's topic!!?
by NotaNess inwhat's up with that?.
i've seen worse posts & replies here people, he's just proposing a scenario to see how level headed people would handle it..

Wanderer, I didn't see an issue with any of the questions you post. Its a posting forum, people can choose which things to respond to and what not to respond to. I like this sort of stuff because sometimes I bring these issues up in my psychology class and I use this info in writing papers. Some people let things get to them to easily when all they have to do is click out of it and not leave a comment. I appreciate you taking the time to come up with this stuff rather than getting peer pressured into deleting the articles. Its just like being at the meetings again. I hope no one takes offense to me having my opinion and I hope I don't get snapped at by some of the others who didn't approve of this topic. Have a good day!
