which ones did you hate and which ones did you like out of the study books?
At the time, I really enjoyed the weeks that we studied the Blood Booklet. It seemed so topical to me at the time and could immenently have an impact on any of our lives. I participated ALOT those weeks.

Commentary on the Letter of James. I like that one too. Enjoyed the writing style. I think I learned here (or somewhere on the internet) that Ray Franz wrote that book.

i have been on the road now since late march.
i am in helsinki, finland and am very very very tired.
i am flying out again tomorrow to mexico city via london & atlanta, ga. i will be working in mexico city until the 27th of may.
Surely there is a way for you to tell someone not to schedule you so tightly and so chaotically. There has to be a way for you to take a week or two off from the insane schedule.
You need a rest. And a little pampering. A hammock under a shade tree with a nice cool breeze.
Somehow there has to be a way for you to be able to enjoy even just that little slice of life.
Is there someone you can call to tell them that you will be 'unavailable' from June 20-30 or something like that. I find that often just having time off scheduled on the calendar helps me get thru the craziness.
If you get too rundown, they will be forced to change their plans at the last minute. Giving 2-3 weeks (or whatever) notice that you need 5-15 days off should be workable. No?

my husband has a sister (lori) pioneer and her hubby (mike) elder who have never had any respect for my husband or myself.
even when we were going to meetings they overstepped their parameters constantly.
demanding personal information and not honoring a simple request to not 'drop in' whenever they get a whim.

I concur with the others. Move on. There is just so much baggage there and you will either have to change your entire life and give up who you really are (and your probably just starting to figure that out for yourself) or you will have a very long road to haul if he decides to leave the JWs (doesn't sound like he's ready for that).
Move on. It's really the best for both of you.

the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!
they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".
I'm a lymphoma survivor, too, although my personal ordeal was not a severe as yours.
I think of you both very often.

major developments in my world, just wanted to let you all know about it.
i'm meeting with the elder tomarrow afternoon.
i'm going to stick heavy to the watchtowers interpretation of matthew 24 and how it is unbalanced, sensationalized and out of touch with any historical evidence or respect for the bible.

ok so with all this talk about geeting young people to get baptized, got me to wondering.... how young have you known someone to get disfellowshipped?.
youngest i knew was 17 years old.
I've been looking for a very sad post about this. Someone wrote about his younger un-baptised brother who was disassociated (or whatever the term was for disciplining unbaptized publishers). He wrote about the young guy crying himself to sleep while he hugged his green bible.
The kid was never the same.
Does anyone else remember that thread or who may have written it?

I don't have any little ones in my life right now and I miss it so much.
In January, I moved to a new town - and right next door to a 3-year-old. What a bundle of love and energy. He's such a cutiepie, too.
