My heart is saddened when I read about your childhood. I am sooo sorry that this happened to you. I too am very glad for this site. I was raised a JW. Although my story is completely opposite, I was raised in a leave it to beaver home. Everything was good. I cant believe all the abuse that goes on in what is supposed to be Jehovahs org. Good luck with raising your children. I now live my life as you mentioned. Love God and others and we will be ok. Thanks for sharing your story.

Keep the goatie and dont wear meeting clothes. Wear some jeans, casual shoes and a tee shirt. Dont bring any literature or a New World Translation. Bring a King James Verson. Maybe tell them you got on this site to learn about JW maybe they will go home and check it out and get out of the org. Good Luck!!!!!

The men had previously went over the account and made up a list of scriptures to share. We sat at the table said prayer then started going over the account with the kids. We asked them ? and let them answer. It was wonderful. I have never ever been to a memorial where I could totally consentrate on what Jesus actually did for us.( Always side tracted by others then when they would pass the wine at the hall everyone is staring at everyone else.) We passed the unleavened bread which I had made and then we passed the wine. It was great!!!! It was sooooo much more personal. We really are grateful for all God and Jesus have given and done for us. I plan on never attending a memorial or meeting again at the KH.
my closes friend asked me today if her and her husband should just go ahead and write a letter of disassociation or wait to be df.
many months ago i talked with them about 607, etc.

thanks for all of the good advice. I talked with my friend last night and her and her husband had written a letter to one of our elders. She stated that they were not going to be attending our cong. anymore. They were not sure where they would be going, just not there. Ended the letter with a few nice words and is mailing it off today. Ill keep u posted on the response.
(they already 2 months ago told one elder they were no longer going to be attending this cong. they still keep coming)

Welcome, you will find alot of opinions here as well as good advice. I was born and raised a JW 30 yrs. My neighbor is Catholic and she is nicer than 98% of the women in my old cong. Keep in mind the bible says Jesus died for ALL mankind. JW teach that Jesus is not our mediator(the one in between us and Jehovah) they teach that it is through our association with the 144,000 that we can gain everlasting life. That is why they believe only JW will survive armageddon.

my husband and i are not disfellowshipped yet you would think that we are.
My husband and I also are going through the same thing. We stopped going and an elder whom we have never talked to told some of our good friends to be careful of us because he heard we were getting into apostate information. The most interesting part is we told this elders fatherinlaw who is the PO that we were researching some of Russells teachings and he told us we are just waisting our time.
Amazing how im an apostate because I was researching from the societies lit. the man who started this cult.
well it happened, oh my goodnes, it only took like 3 hours going around in circles!!!
well its a very long story people, but i have to thankyou for the help yesterday, because i totally wasnt myself in the meeting and i actually questioned them and challenged them, and one of the elders is like wow you've changed, is this someone else talking?and i was like no, my questions are genuine, from me and hes like what are you studying at uni, theology?and im like no, sport and recreation!!!
!and at first i took my sister and i wanted her to come in but they wouldnt let her, then once i started questioning them, they could only say the same few things like the faithfull and discreet slaves are the directed ones and i have to believe them and then basicaly tried to make it that i was diassociating myself and i was like, no, i dont want to leave as long as i could research from other sources and they kinda ignored that and pretended like it was fine after telling me it wasnt, but disfellowshipping me because i said i couldnt promise them i wouldnt do a couple of things they frown upon again and that i didnt know if i was repentant untill i knew that they were wrong in my heart.
You are not alone. I personally know a number of people that post here and we are all playing the waiting game. Waiting for the call and waiting for the meeting. All I can say is if anyone can be as gutsy as sickoflies and record the JC meeting the more it helps everyone here. Like L.L. says its Theropy FREE Theropy. You always have friends here to share your feelings and they will listen. Always remember you may not have the congregation anymore but Jehovah knows your heart condition.

i've been thinking of how all of our lives have changed from learning about this religion and getting out.
probably no one has done more to help us understand the truth about "the truth" than raymond franz.
of course there were others that questioned dates, prophecies and dogma but it was ray franz that revolutionized the organization.
