the claim of any substantive change in the policy on pedophiles is news to me.
can anybody verify or falsify this claim?.

This link will take you to the judge's sentencing remarks to a JW ex-elder who abused his granddaughters (he was an elder when he committed the offences). It's a case just concluded three weeks ago and the man is now in prison.
There have been 2 threads on this already but I don't think many posters have noticed them.
Note that according to the judge, the congregation still supports the ex-elder.

Wow besty, your life during this stage didn't have too much in common with most young JWs (field service most weekends, pioneering, guilt, guilt, guilt). Maybe that came later.

This is the person wozadummy posted about recently. He apparently molested his daughters too when they were kids.

It's a sickening example of how inaction by the elders has resulted in grief for another generation of children. I guess they didn't have the two witnesses. Well the judge and jury managed to work out who was telling the truth.

i've mentioned before here that in my old congo that there is a pedophile who has been there for some years.
just to re-cap - he was an elder in a congo more south from my old congo for some years and stopped being an elder there for unknown reasons to us when he and his wife moved to our congo when we attended.. in time it came out ,from an elderly pioneer who was close to my wife, that he had been df'd before for adultery or some such.. now in our congregation he got df'd again and because the pioneer sister used to get a lift to meetings from them ,she was told by the pedo's wife that he had been accused of molesting his girls when they were kids.
of course the stupid woman was actually defending her husband to the pioneer - this is her daughters this animal molested!!.
Since this thread was updated yesterday, I've told 2 families about the sentencing. Even though this person is very well known in South Australia, no-one is aware of what has happened.
There seems to be a conspiracy of silence where child abuse has occurred.

Wozza, this will be such a shock to so many people as he was very popular. I'm sorry for the daughters and the granddaughters - and for their families.

im 20 from a family of both sides 3rd gen jdubs and ive been generally inactive minus assemblies memorials and the occasional meeting for 3 years.i dont what all im supposed to include in here....i left becuase:(not in order of importance).
1)i felt and feel personally failed by the organization by allowing my siblings and cousins as well as many friends and there mothers over the years be sexually abused and mistreated.. 2)to much conjecture and flip flopping the "nobodys perfect" exscuse wasnt cutting it anymore.
3)i want to help people in a real and unconditional way not just for the purpose of converting them.
