Disfellowshipped
by LadyCCC iniam now as what was announced at a recent meeting that iam "no longer a jehovah's witness" all of my family and friends are witnesses so this will ailenate me from all of my friends and family.
but i feel like i don't want to go back.
i really hate the feeling of isolation and shamefulness while iam sitting in the meeting, what's the point of it all.

To a JW, an apostate is worse than a terrorist.

That's funny, hambeak. I mean it makes me laugh that you are so forthright (it wouldn't be funny if he had a heart attack right in front of you).

But how do we know that they dont have the truth.
You have to do a little research but it's not hard. There are websites such as www.jwfacts.com which are very helpful and easy to follow. Once it dawns on you that you've been fed a lie all your life and it's a load of baloney, you may feel very angry. But in the end it will be liberating so it's worth putting in a bit of effort.
Whatever you decide, you will get lots of support here. So welcome to JWD!!

This is a quote from the book, "You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth"
These wicked angels were not thrown into a literal place called Tartarus. Rather, Tartarus, which is mistranslated "hell" in some Bibles, refers to the abased or fallen condition of these angels. They were cut off from the spiritual light of God’s organization, and they have only everlasting destruction awaiting them. (James 2:19; Jude 6) Since the time of the Flood, God has not permitted these demon angels to take on fleshly bodies, so they cannot directly satisfy their unnatural sexual desires. Yet they can still exercise dangerous power over men and women. In fact, with the help of these demons Satan is "misleading the entire inhabited earth." (Revelation 12:9).
The WTS makes many assumptions and don't always base them on scripture. They change their mind on key doctrines when it suits them (just look at what they've done with the "generation").
I think you've raised some valid questions. I wonder what your JW relatives would say? Don't expect to get any satisfactory answers from them though.

"Any book published prior to 1992"
That would include books with the pre-1995 understanding of the generation. I thought those books would have been ditched.

Troubling past few weeks...
by bluesbreaker59 ini've been df'd since march of 2007, haven't been to a kingdom hall since memorial, and haven't been to a regular meeting since about nov. 2006. .
my dad's whole side of the family cut me off, my one aunt and my grandma did completely.
my other aunt and my dad are having a harder time with it.

Maybe your dad read about the generation change and is having doubts. Maybe your dad thinks you've been unjustly disfellowshipped and he'll just ignore it.
Maybe he just misses you and has decided not to shun you anymore. I think that's the more likely option. Sounds like he's having a hard time of it. At least he's human!

Inner Peace
by JH indo you feel more inner peace now or when you were serving as a jw?.
no matter if the teachings were wrong, or not exact, i had more inner peace when i was "in".. i remember when i got operated for a hernia, and had to be put asleep, while i was a jw in good standings.
i knew that god would resurrect me if ever something went wrong, and i didn't wake up from the operation.. today if i had to undergo an other similar operation, i'm not sure i'd have the same inner peace.. i think that no matter what religion you practise, no matter if it's false or not as false, you develop this inner peace, that may only be an illusion..

I'm much more at peace now I'm out. I could never live up to expectations and that took its toll.
Finding out the truth about "the truth" was the best thing that ever happened to me. It's hard sometimes because most of my family are still in but I faded and they don't shun me.
