We are all still here 94 yrs. after 1914, 33 after 1975.
...and a whole lot happier after we discovered the real truth.

me and my wife married as two dumb young pioneers who don't know any better.
she is european and very very highly strung.
so argueing was often.
(((007))) It sounds like deep down you realise what you are going through is for the best in the long term. But you have to go through the pain in the meantime. You sound like a caring and loving person. I hope you get strength from people here who have been through similar. Hope you've got some real life support as well - there's nothing like a hug from someone who cares about you.

my wife and i split from the witnesses about 2 years now....and now she says we need a divorce asap!
she doesn't want to work thru it.
lately and for awhile she has been amazingly aggressive to me.....and pretty much everyone else she knows.
(007) so sorry you are going through this. I'm thinking of you.

Wow, so good to have you here, BonaFide.
I find it easier to go to the meeetings and I can even put all the lies out of my mind and comment sometimes and give my parts.
I know exactly what you mean. Just give it time.

i heard that bethel pays for brothers' undergrad and law school expenses if they serve as lawyers, is that true?
also, just to see the hypocrisy, would they accept someone who went to harvard law even if they weren't a regular pioneer?
I seriously, seriously doubt that Bethel will pay for six or more years of college for some Bethelite to get a law degree
It may not happen in other countries but it was done in Australia.
my husband and i left the org about 6 months ago and in voicing our views we were shunned.
the elders who were 'friends' treated us with cold efficiency to the letter of their law.
one older elder played 'good cop' and invited us over for a heart-to-heart.
We refuse to pretend we don t understand...WE DON T AGREE!
I like that! Your strength is inspiring. Thanks!

i'm curious as to how far everyone has explored their new found freedom having left the borg.. has anyone been interested in, or interested in becoming, or just vaguely interested in the following - the raelians (they do have good geometry), any ufo cult, rastafarianism, amish, trekkies, the john frum movement, the discordians, buddhists, hindu, scientologist or any other that isn't listed here?

I'm just trying to be "normal" - whatever that is. I'm definitely not interested in joining another religious group.
