What are your plans post JWD?
by penny2 inwill you be joining another forum or leaving it all behind?.
i took to heart simon's thread about moving on past the "ex-jw" phase and i've been spending less time at the computer.
it's comforting though, to come back on here occasionally and see how my cyber friends are doing.. so i'm glad there are options - i've noticed some familiar faces on new forums - there may be access to jwd in some form..... .....and there's a whole world out there!.

by penny2 inpage 28, paragraph 11 says in part:.
"it seems that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today.
" (the 24 elders = "anointed christians in their heavenly positions".).

Are you celebrating?
by penny2 insome of us can't celebrate openly, but are you celebrating anyway?
yesterday i visited a family member who celebrates in a big way (yes, he is shunned by most of the family).
we exchanged some gifts and reminisced on old times - his partner is struggling to understand what we ex-jws go through.

2nd Ashes Test - great entertainment
by penny2 ini've just watched kevin pietersen get his 100 - now both batsmen have their century and are taking a few risks with the bat - making for great entertainment.. it's in my home city of adelaide and it's the perfect day for cricket.
we've had really hot weather but it cooled down just in time for the start of the test - yesterday 26 degrees centigrade and today an estimated max of 21.. there seem to be just as many english supporters in the crowd as aussies - in fact i think the english are much more vocal!!.

Melbourne Cup
by penny2 inthe melbourne cup is "the race that stops a nation" and it's on tomorrow.
it's a public holiday in victoria (melbourne being the capital city of victoria) - elsewhere it's a working day - but not much work gets done in many workplaces across australia.
in the morning, the "sweep" gets organised, then it's an extended lunch which culminates in watching the race.. as a jw i used to find the melbourne cup quite embarrassing, constantly having to explain - no, i don't want a ticket in the sweep, no, i haven't got a horse, no my horse didn't win, i didn't have a ticket...and on and on.
