  Shouldn't JWs Ban Wedding Receptions Because of their Pagan Origins?

  well, nah, because jesus attended a wedding reception and provided kick a$$ wine.

  but, modern day jw's are all about removing anything fun from life, so they should consider it for this reason alone.

  one more fun thing bites the dust.

  my wife is very used to the relatively comfortable lifestyle we presently have, so how would a question like this go over:.

  "i understand that the jws are very opposed to the military and military service....since i presently work for the department of defense, how is my employment viewed by god (or would i need to change jobs to become a jw?)?.

  any thoughts?

  Generation change & Michael/Jesus - wife's bible study

  sat in on my wife's bible study tonight, next week the husband of her study sister is coming with her, he is actually the presiding overseer of the congregation.

  tried to get me to talk about trinity next week, but the topics will be either generation or michael.. .

  the sister pointed to the statement in matthew on generation, i believe it was matthew 24:14 and said that since jesus was talking to his disciples, that equates to the anointed.

  HERE'S A BOMBSHELL ABOUT THE 144,000 DOCTRINE......

  just when you think you've heard it all............in my research for my project, i was doing some digging around on the subject of the 144,000 and came across something in the wts's literature that absolutely stunned me and, being the generous soul that i am , wanted to pass it on to you to get your thoughts on this.. .

  we all know that the society teaches that the 144,000 mentioned in revelation is speaking of "spiritual israel" and not 'fleshly israel' or even other christians in general right?

  there are countless quotes throughout the literature that we are all familiar with that specifically state this, but to drive home a point, here are a few:.

  Thanks Mary, the po and his wife may be over here on Wednesday, and if we talk Generation, the 144K just may come up, I may need to do some brushing up on the Insight book my wife has so I can sort of 'fumble' through it and come up with these questions in front of my wife and the po/sister.....but I have so many other questions.....great find!!!

  That is such a true statement about the WT trying to defend himself by attacking others.....if the only way one tries to make oneself look good is by making negative statements about others, how good are they really.

  I know they want sooooo bad to get to Trinity....the po is supposed to be getting me the list of references....but from what I understand he will be unable to provide....at least there are lots of folks who have posted them.

  As for Michael/Jesus, just interested in presenting the fallacy of thier reasoning, at least how one can see how illogical some of their 'proofs' are....and this may get her thinking a bit.

  I noticed since I sat with my wife and the sister last Wednesday, there has been very little jw interest, and the bible was opened to the 'proof' verse on the generation change....I think it has her thinking, change, change, change!

  sorry, had to leave quickly, so did not finish. My wife and the study sister have asked me to just accept things that make sense, well I said I do not accept things til I look into them. I wonder if they would also be willing to just accept things that make sense??
