the following 2 questions when they arrive at your door with the watchtower society's 'good news' and their jesus (the prehuman angel michael, the human jesus and a resurrected spirit creature [6/15/06 watchtower page 30]) who is 3 persons in one:.

the first question is, if you truly abstain from blood, how can you belong to a religion that allows parts of blood?.

the second question is, would you donate blood so that the fractions allowed by the watchtower society could save the life of one of your jehovah's witness brothers or sisters?.

So a triune God (Father, Son, Spirit) is beyond the grasp of human reason, but a triune god (Word, Jesus, Michael) is completely ok........

in considering this matter it is well to note that bible writers often took for granted that certain things would be understood, just as writers in our day do.

for example, the apostle paul states, as we read at colossians 1:16, that by means of jesus christ all things were created in the heavens and on earth.

but since we know from revelation 3:14 that jesus himself was also created, the newworldtranslation adds the word "other," which clearly is what the apostle had in mind.

Well to me the most obvious is the addition of Jehovah 200+ times to the New Testament, and the inconsistent method which it was done.

THERE ARE NO ANCIENT MANUSCRIPTS THAT HAVE THE DIVINE NAME.....to be restored means it had to have initially been there.......

I guess it is ok for fractions......as long as the blood it comes from is not stored...but poured upon the ground first........

Why are the Spanish speaking congregations apparently doing well in the US?

last time i looked at the annual society statistics it seemed obvious to me that the more 'developed' countries were recording stagnant or negative growth.. possibly a more educated and more affluent society together with freely available information via media and the internet can explain some of this.. why then are the latin american countries and particularly spanish speaking american's going for the watchtower.

from what little i know i wouldn't class these groups as 'backward' or third world.. any ideas?

is is just the ex catholic community?.

My wife is hispanic and her family is still in, but they have not assimilated themselves too well into the country yet. I think part of the reason my wife is studying, interested and right now being brainwashed is pressure from the family....

An estimated 600 people from the area will come to York City Auditorium for a two day event focusing on developing Godly qualities.
Jehovah's Witnesses will host their annual assembly at the auditorium beginning Saturday, Nov. 29 at 9:40 a.m. The 2008 “Keep Conquering the Evil With the Good” Circuit Assembly is open to the public. Admission to the assembly is free and no collections will be taken.
The program will focus on how Christians can stand firm against anything that opposes worship to God. An assembly highlight will be a part especially designed for the public entitled, “All Evil Soon to End.” This part will take place on Sunday at 1:30 PM. Other program parts include, “Do Not Show Yourself Discouraged in the Day of Distress” and “Now Is the Season to Stay Awake!”
Witnesses who are associated with the area's congregations anticipate an excellent turnout for the event in view of the enthusiastic response to last year's assembly, which had the theme “Do All Things for God's Glory.” Witnesses also look forward to welcoming many non-Witnesses to the assembly. Witnesses believe that all who attend will benefit from the practical information presented.
Throughout the United States there will be numerous assemblies. Worldwide, there are nearly 7,000,000 Witnesses in over 101,000 congregations.

Why the hey did we not WALK away in 1995?? the gen. thing

i remember arguing with a bethel elder friend of mine during a long ride to an assembly about the"new light" in 1995....that the generation of 1914 is not the "this generation" that jesus referred to: .

(luke21:32)32 truly i say to you, this generation will by no means pass away until all things occur.

yep....pretty damm simple to me for 45 years...the generation that sees all the "signs" will not die before armageddon....thus we honest hearted ones pleaded with our back calls, or return visits to study with us before it is too late!....the time is soooo short, cause these 1914 folk are gettin damm old!....hurry in and be saved!.

1995? Hell, my mom still doesn't think the change EVER happened!

I think this is common, the woman my wife had studied with is the wife of the PO (now been passed to the daughter, better fits the schedule ie, she comes when spiritual opposer is not home) did not seem to know this or the calling of the anointed, and the Reasoning book still has the old information in the Last Days area.

have you noticed that the most recent publications by the watch tower, and particularly the study articles of the watchtower magazine, contain less and less references to secular sources?

there is not doubt that the society was always making efforts to provide us with a historical and quasi-intellectual perspective of the world.

i am sure all of you can think of books by the watch tower that contained extensive information on history, biology, and even philosophy (insight, creation book, the bible -god's word or man's?

Having never been a JW and looking into it from the outside, it would not be hard to throw stones, but I live in a glass house when it comes to the mind control aspect of things.

The JWs do an amazing job of getting the folks to trust in the F&DS, without them realizing what the slave really is. To my wife I think they sensed I knew a lot about the past, so they got her to see how wonderful it is that the spirit directed organization is willing to change, when many other faiths have held on to incorrect doctrine and practices (though never giving any examples - isn't this called a red herring).

I have asked my wife if she knew what happened in 1975 and of course she doesn't, and when I try to ask her about it she all but refuses to listen....did the information come from the official site......I need to get her to get a WTS CD, cause then she could find some of the information on it herself, even though the Awake part does not go back into the 1960s, where a lot of the really strange stuff about education was stated with respect to so close to the end.

What surprises me is then the generation change came in the mid 1990s, the turn of the century came with no end, then the next change in generation to tie it to the anointed, and now the change in the closing date for the anointed.

The amazing part about this, is they have managed through very poorly used smoke and mirrors completly disassociate the coming of armageddon from 1914......as long as folks can 'become anointed' the end can still be off in the future......I am going to be very interested to see what the anointed ends up being this year, I would venture to guess they WTS already has a number in mind for damage control purposes.....

did the "the end will likely happen" in 1975 teaching start in 1966???

is the book mentioned below where it all started?....released in 1966 at dc......i don't think there was any mention of 1975 before this because no 6000 years timeline ending in 1975 had come out before to my knowledge......anybody?

That would be a good thread oompa, I wonder why the 1995 change, the recent change to now look at only the anointed being alive, and then the change to the calling of the anointed have also not caused major changes/defections.....I would guess it is because they all are chanting......must follow governing body........
