This looks like a good place to introduce myself
by mindmelda inhi, i'm 49 and have been an inactive witness for years now.
i was baptized at age 16 about 33 years ago mainly to please my parents and to fit in, cuz everyone was doing it.
and i was able to answer all those questions in the organization book because i have a near photographic memory, as it turns out.

What does the Bible Really Teach...chapter 8, God's Kingdom
by insearchoftruth inmy wife has invited the sister she is studying with and her husband over on tuesday evening so i can follow along with her 'bible study - gag' since i may be very interested in this chapter.
i have read the notes from wilbur lingle on freeminds and they are helpful, but am wondering if there are any other good questions i can ask.
this is the first time i have met this gal and her husband and i do not want to come off as 'major apostate', as i am pretty sure i did with a previous study sister, i want to keep the door open to ask questions and raise some thoughts.

Jw's use publications as proof and back up for their doctrines instead of the bible.
by LouBelle ini say this because when i was preparing to leave the organisation i did initially agree to have a bible study with an elder and a sister in good standing.
my only condition is that we use the bible as a means of proving or disproving doctrines.
they had agreed to that.

I agree wholeheartedly LouBelle.
My wife is an on/off again JW BS participant.....yes she opens the NWT occasionally, but primarly a verse here, a verse there, never a full story from the Bible, on the otherhand, full WT articles, full chapters in the Bible Teach book......I feel that the roots of the organization may have intended it to be based in the Bible, but even with the slants that have been put in the NWT, the Bible pretty much is what it is, and that does not fit the needs of the organization's governing body.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 05-03-09 WT Study (LAMB)
by blondie inevidence of god's confidence in the anointed, who "keep following the lamb no matter where he goes.
16 "my sheep listen to my voice," said jesus, "and i know them, and they follow me.
what shows that jesus christ completely trusts the slave class?

I am amazed at the way they can have the title of follow the lamb, but the whole article is about the loyalty not to Jesus, not to Jehovah, not to the annointed....but to the GB.
Thanks again for your wonderful work Blondie, appreciated more than you realize!

Since this chapter talks about the rule in heaven, it naturally leads to a discussion of the 144K, Michael, lots of other strange things that I think my wife does not really know what they teach. One of my thoughts is to talk about how one gets annointed and how important the anointed are...knowing that in June the WT greatly diminishes the value and stature of this class.....any thoughts.....
I don't want to get to far on Tuesday, hope to somewhat stall the progress, I know that I will be offered my own BS.....NO WAY, could not stomach it.......
You are all great...waiting to hear about the wonderful special talk, her congos was today on true religion, will be interesting to see if she says much at all......

But Jehovah God has also provided his visible organization, his "faithful and discreet slave," made up of spirit-anointed ones, to help Christians in all nations to understand and apply properly the Bible in their lives. Unless we are in touch with this channel of communication that God is using, we will not progress along the road to life, no matter how much Bible reading we doDoesn't a lot of the meaning of this change with the June watchtower that greatly diminishes the role of the annointed??
