I met my fiance online in a chat room. He was in Iraq in the Army at the time and I was bored and couldn't sleep. Neither of us were looking for a relationship, just good conversation to kill time. Anyway, after about 4 months of talking I started talking with his mom and sisters too. His family was coming to my area to look at schools for his younger sis and was looking at one about 15 minutes from me. We met for dinner and it all just clicked. I met his whole family before I met him, which was nice cause I could verify what he told me to make sure he was telling me the truth about himself. When he returned from Iraq I drove down with his family to meet him in person. We haven't been apart since.

Say something horrible.............but true about your kids ..............
by vitty inalthough, the complaints may be valid and sad.
many posters here have vented about their wicked parents.. i think its time we parents have a post dedicated to saying something horrid about our kids.
it maybe something you have wanted to say about them that was in the past or happening now.

I would love it if my daughter could clean her room without me having to tell her 500 times and threatening to take away all her precious items, and then keep it clean. She can trash a room in .004 seconds !!!

The daughter of a prostitute.
by greendawn inif asked: would you marry a prostitute most people would say no, but if asked would you marry a prostitute's daughter that doesn't like this game and has never been in it, would you do it, to have a prostitute as a mother in law and grand mother of your children?
.
i personally wouldn't do it hard though it may be on her decent daughter.

I am a girl, so I wouldn't marry a girl in the first place..lol. Seriously though. If the mother was never around, I wouldn't care too much, it is not the daughters fault what lifestyle the mother chose. Now, if the mother was around quite a bit, flaunting her life choices, then I would definately give it some major thought.

A wedding UNinvitation... please help me before I flip
by Fleshybirdfodder ini just got of the phone with my younger brother and i am angered to the point of apoplexy.
he was planning on going to a wedding of an old close friend of his accompanied by my mom (an active witless still), but happened to check an email address he doesn't use frequently anymore.
surprise!

Sounds like your brother is a stand up guy and that his witness friend is losing out on what could have been a great friendship. Look at the positive side, at leaast he didn't spend a bundle on a wedding gift for someone who wasn't deserving of it, and that he checked his e-mail before going. I know how mad and hurt it makes you and him feel, I wish no one would have to experience the pain of losing a friendship over mundane things.

Do You Think ENGLISH Should Be The Official Language In America?
by minimus insome politicians are saying this would be "racist".

I think that English should definately be the official languge in America. It has been for years, so why change it? If we go to anither country like France, Spain, Africa, etc... they use their official language.

To hell and back? Or how to defeat disappointment.
by serendipity inof all the dirt you've learned about jws, and mistreatment and epiphanies experienced, what was the biggest or most painful disappointment?
what did you do to cope with it?
and how long did it take to come to an acceptance of the situation?

When my now ex husband gave me an STD. I went to all 5 meetings a week at the time, only spent my free time talking on the phone with witnesses or doing puzzles at home with my daughter, and they all knew, but still that didn't prove him of adultery, because maybe I had a double life...yeah right! He is still in good standing with the Org. I walked away soon after that. But, as you can see I am still very scarred by the whole experience so I come to this site for awareness that I wasn't the only one mistreated.

I remember about 10 years ago I worked as a customer service rep for a magazine company. I went through a heartwrenching miscarriage and I took a couple ddays off work to get through it, but had to return to make money to pay the bills. I remember sitting there, almost in tears, and people were calling griping because they didn't recieve a magazine issue for that month. One lady called and was YELLING at me because her magazine arrived with the cover damaged from the post office and DEMANDED I send her a new one right away, she was just really nasty. I finally had it with the pissy griping about mundane things and went off on her. Thankfully my boss was a caring individual and gave me the rest of the day off paid to cool off.

Witnessing at school
by I-follow-the-narrow-path ini was in class and by these two women (one who was a christian and the other student i am unsure of).
i asked them, randomly, "do you know much about jehovah's witnesses?
" -- they both said "yes" and the non-christian said "i had a jw friend and he really hated it... he disaproved of what they taught" -- i started to talk about shunning and disfellowship.

Does your school have a Religion In America class? Mine did and I took it, I didn't get any credits for it, but I sure learned a heck of alot on the history of the most prevalent religions in the United States. I live in Iowa also, so maybe it is something to look in to.

Hmmmmm, I am confused, first you think people are being rude, then you think people are nice....which one is it?
