Here we go - elder's hassle AK Jeff - round three.....

first in april - i get a call from two elder's trying to set up a meeting i assume [ i told them not interested in speaking to them and hung up ] some may recall that thread.. then last month - two more show up at the house, and wifey ignores them at the door.

[i am at work].

tonight - 'brother t' calls on the phone and asks for me.

Like Gary says about the lurkers, I hope they read the things i write and that others write and hope it opens their pathetically fossilised minds. I am free....you are not. I am emancipated....you are trapped serving an American publishing company.

To that i add that when you walk past me in the street i think NOTHING of you, because you are hypocrites of the highest order.

remember how inside the congregation we were taught that we should our love our brothers so much that we would die for them?.

now why were taught to trust and love our brothers and sisters so much mush that we would do that for them?.

No, not in a religious context anyway, which is what Jesus was meaning when he came out with the "....that he should surrender is soul in behalf of his brothers" line. I'm not keen on Jesus nowadays.

Some parents make the decision NEVER to administer physical punishment to their children and it seems to becoming a common way of thinking in the Western World.

This is my opinion having brought up 3 boys (now aged 14, 16, 18). Each child is different and responds to different types of discipline.

Now i think that smacking/spanking IS an acceptable form of discipline but it has to be used in moderation and cool-headed context.

I all too often see parents nowadays being absolutely RULED by their kids, it's pathetic. It's currently happening to my friend.

My final thought is this; Consistency, don't bend to their pressure when you as an adult KNOW your discipline is for your childs' good.

so there i am yesterday, driving through the lovely english countryside enjoying the rolling green slopes of the hills.

now in my part of the world (lancashire) there's lots and lots of sheep!!

they look lovely mooching around in the grass and moorland totally oblivious to what's going on around them.. until they stand in the road in the path of your car.......licking the tarmac!!.

Yeah FoDN, alot of us were 'licking the TARMAC'.

I know i did, for 15 years.

It wasn't a pointless 15 years but thanks be to......oh i don't know....the great benevolent UNIVERSE, that i heard the 'car horn'.
