  Did anything stick?

  i know that many who left the organization left for there own reasons, which are interestingly similar.

  is there anything (teaching) that stuck with them.

  i am mainly refering to the princibles that are taught.

  Maaaybe the TMS taught me something with regard to standing up in front of people when i've had occasion to.

  As for morals and being a good person, if you want to be a good person then you'll be one.

  No big guy standing over me with a big stick is going to produce the real me.

  Most people with half a brain can become good types without a religion telling them how to join the dots.

  If that's how mankind is....If we need someone stood over us with a big stick before we'll be good, then we weren't much to shout about in the first place.....were we?

  How many 'real" friends did you ever really have in ther "truth'

  sure we got to know a lot of people, we knew a lot more people then the average person, but how many real friends did we ever have?

  a friend that we could trust, that we could confine in.

  i can say i had just one, bro x and even then i still had to be careful, bro x is an elder now and he tells me that im the only real friend hes ever had, he cant freely talk to anyone.

  Real friends are those who stick by your side through thick and thin; their friendship is not conditional. Based on this, I would have to say there is not one "real" friend in the entire organization...and I am referring to the non-questioning we-shun-because-we're-told-to types.

  Amen to that Grace!!

  I thought i had 2 or 3 true friends.

  I don't think that way anymore. I just hope that their horribly sullied minds allow them to see the real truth one day and therefore speak to me once more.

  I do tend to believe that some are sincere, just mentally frozen by dirty lies as some of us at one time were.

  THE REAL REASON FAMILY MEMBERS SHUN.........................

  i think the real reason family members shun their "loved ones" is not because they love you and think it will bring you back, or that they are being obedient to god, but that you have totally embarrassed them, brought the family name into disrepute and it now brings into question how spiritual they are.. if they shun you, in their minds, they think the elders, and dubs will not think less of them.

  its all about what the "neighbours " think not what the bible teaches.. its about pride not love.. what do you think?.

  oh and it gives them brownie points to be used at armageddon.......................just in case.. .

  My JW daughter thinks I'm the worst father in the world so shunning from a "spiritual" perspective gets her off the hook!

  That must be really hard to deal with. I'm presuming she's been 'dirtied' by the WTS to get her to that state of mental blackness.

  I have 3 sons, all thankfully free of the WTS.

  It must break your heart. I really feel for you sunshine.

  i know we've heard a lot of horror stories about jcs and getting disfellowshipped.........................but what is your experiences of continuing going to the meetings to be reinstated.............what did it really feel like?.

  did you mind being ignored or did you understand it and take it on the chin?.................................what were your familys treatment of you during the period of having to sit on the back row????.

  when i saw ppl comming in late and leaving early .....................i just knew it was wrong, wrong , wrong to treat ppl that way.. in fact i got told off for smiling at a sister who i knew genuinly wanted to come back,( the pos wife told me ) i did it out of human feelings and was then blasted.. after she got reinstated, i was the first person she came upto and introduced herself.

  Hello Vitty

  I went to the meetings as a Dfed person for 4 yrs with my 3 boys. It was one of the most difficult and painful experiences of my life.

  Those people are among the most cold and emotionally dead people on the earth. Their hard and inhuman hearts that constantly dished out their abrogation of my truly heatfelt efforts, are on a par with the stupid blind minions of the Nazi Regime IMO.

  There are a few amongst them that i believe are probably genuinely nice people, i even miss a couple. I hope that they are released from the grip of that truly evil empire very soon.

  when things are going well, you can sorta ignore all the crap the jws have brought to your life, but sometimes you gotta let go, get it out.

  i was talking with a nurse today who has to deal with the jw demands about blood transfusions, and i found myself speaking outright against the jws and their f*cked up beliefs.

  if i could destroy that religion i would.

  i found that the article on 'young popele ask....do i have an eating disorder?

  ' in the awake magazine for october 2006 to have worrying advice in it.. apparantly the answer to this problem, according to the wtbts is prayer!

  how did psychiatrists miss this for so long?.

  I have come to believe that prayer is total bulls**t!!

  Some people think it works but they are only mistaking 'accomplishing things through mental focus' for a deity answering their pleadings.

  Recommending prayer as part of the treatment for eating disorders is patently farcical and cuckoo!!

  If there IS a god answering prayers, then his/her criteria for doing so was probably arrived at at 3 o'clock in the morning, after his/her 15th spliff.
