  Prayer to Jesus Christ?

  did the apostles and disciples pray to jesus christ?

  2nd corinthians 12:8: concerning this thing, i begged the lord three times that it might depart from me.. 2nd corinthians 12:9: he has said to me, "my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

  " most gladly therefore i will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of christ may rest on me.. 2nd corinthians 12:10: therefore i take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for christ's sake.

  A lot of ex-dubs (and current dubs) do not get any peace by praying to "Jehovah" - it is because the name reminds us of the bad things about the org, the crap we've went through.

  I believe that you should pray to whomever you feel comfortable praying to - whether it be God, Jesus, Jehovah, Yahweh, Adonai, or Lord. What's important is that you pray - not HOW you pray.

  Typical of the org to put the emphasis on PROCEDURE. Appearances and control - that's all that matters.

  confuzcious - a lot of people can relate to that. We've all done it at one time or another out of fear. Don't beat yourself up - it's a learning experience - just use it to move on up to the next level of strength and freedom.

  well.........he did have that "glowing" thing going on for a while there. And I guess he'd be easy to pick out in a crowd being the only man with a dove on his head. Other than that - he probably blended in pretty well....except for the crowds all following behind him.

  Hmmmm...I wonder if he would have given an interview to Barbara Walters......ok - I'm rambling again.

  Guess it is determined on where you live.

  My son hasn't been to a meeting since his grandfather (an elder) passed away over 1 year ago - he hasn't gotten so much as a phone call from anyone at the Kingdom Hall. Of course - I am definately not going to pursue the matter.........what a relief he'll be free.

  WARNING.....demon attached to object?

  after all the years of having it drilled in my head that demons could attach themselves to an object i now wonder: is that just more jw bull****?

  am i still reacting to the years of brainwashing or is there really a concern about what one brings into their home?.

  anybody have any thoughts on this????

  After reading the bible for quite some time WITHOUT the help of the WT materials to cloud it all up - it's clear to me that demons are not attached to inanimate objects. It would be quite hard to fight a battle (as portrayed in Daniel) if you were stuck to a rubic cube.

  I think it's all just scare tactics - and a lot of it is simple human hysteria. How much of the old "posessions" could be now explained by modern medicine - schizophrenia, night terrors, etc.

  I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about demons. Just focus on your heart and your future.

  1) Being so utterly bored to death at meetings and studies (I now go to churches & studies where I actually learn new stuff all the time)

  2) Always worrying if I'm good enough to make it (NO......duh........noone is - if we were Jesus wouldn't of had to come and die for us)

  3) Always scared of every major political move or storm or disaster - Armageddon was always just around the corner.

  Making it "through" to the other side...

  i've been away for some time - lots of work and family stuff keeping me busy.

  i was reading through a lot of the posts this evening catching up and there are so many new people here!

  so to all of you who are just now searching for an answer, to those that are scared of leaving, or scared that you've been df'd, or scared of armageddon - i want to let you know what it's like on the other side - when you've finally made it through all the fear, the guilt, the sorrow, and have healed.. there is a feeling of freedom now that i can not explain to anyone still in - in fact, even people who were not once jw's don't understand because they don't know what it was like to be in "chains".

  So glad you all liked it.

  I was so scared when I was DF'd - I was sure there was nothing else to live for - no life outside of the org. I hope that by posting our experiences here now we can help others that are just now starting on this journey.

  ok. i called the p.o.

  and smoothed (pressured) him over, he will be here at noon saturday... my brother and i have worked him over on the phone , and he already admitts he can't prove jesus choose the wt in 1919 etc etc...as he can't get the older wt's.... so he's speaking presumptuously...... i did a little studying today , and he is in big trouble... we will keep him on the subject, at all costs... and the subject will be false prophecies of the wt... i have decided to just wing it, and throw out all kinds wt rotten food.... mike is hot over here and i'm quite sure we can have his head spinning in short order.... we are going to hit the finished mystery book hard... but i am open for any ideas to put the last nail in his coffin....john

  Ask him to prove - using only the Bible - that the "Great Crowd" of Revelation is an earthly class.

  He'll use a lot of twisting and explanations - but there is no way to prove it. Every time the great crowd is mentioned in Revelation it is in HEAVEN and before the throne of God - and they are there BEFORE Armageddon......hmmm..........

  Oh - and the "other sheep" Jesus spoke about that they use to tie into the Great Crowd? If read in context it's clear he was speaking of the Gentiles - which the way for them would be opened up after his death.

  I've used this one a number of times and have never had a JW that could prove it - of course, 'cause they're WRONG.
