New here...(my story and a request for help)

i was raised in the organization.

my stepfather was a ministerial servant but was removed when i was 14, due to family problems, which he blamed on me (he was abusive, physically, and was told that if he cannot control his family, he could not be an example to the congregation).

i became pregnant at 15 and have not really lived around my family since then.

I don't know if this will help you much, but I have two scriptures that have made an impact to me in proving that the JW was not the truth

Deut 18:22 "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him." Now...how many times has the organization made a "prophecy" that has not come true? Your friend will answer that the Organization does not claim to be a prophet - but if you do some research you will find that in fact they have said just so in their own literature. Besides - if you look up the definition of a prophet I'm sure that the actions of the society fit.

Matthew 24:26-27 - This one basically says that if someone claims Christ has returned in some hidden way it is not true because his return would be seen by everyone.

for the case of our own "theocratic war strategy" how many here would be willing to go back to the.

kingdom hall, put on a fake pretense of being in line with the org, try to be reinstated.

I'm thinking of taking a different route. I'd hate to waste precious time jumping through stupid hurdles with the org........(besides I'm a girl and girls don't count there)...

So I'm thinking of making up little pamphlets that tell the REAL truth about JW's and leaving them EVERYWHERE I go. I travel A LOT for work and cover a lot of ground - I could leave them at restaurants, airports, office buildings, car rental agencies, banks, stores, hotels ... you name it - just leave them everywhere.

Maybe a JW would actually read one....and maybe a non-JW would read one and never fall into the trap of becoming a JW. It's an idea I'm considering......

Why Was Adam Blocked From Tree of Life?

had adam reached the tree and ate... he would have been cured of his sins and once again become sinless.

My take on the "tree of knowledge" was that.......well first, it's a symbol. And second - I don't think it's actual KNOWLEDGE like how to have sex (as mentioned earlier). The scripture says it is the tree of knowledge of "good and bad". Prior to this point Adam was unaware of evil. Being unaware those thoughts would never evolve. After being exposed to evil it is there - no matter how much one fights it, it's there.

I liken it to a child - when they're 1 or 2 years old they have absolutely no concept of murder, rape, evil things that people do to one another. They don't even imagine it until they are exposed to it in some way - which we all are at some point either through a story, news, tv, whatever.

If Adam had never been exposed to evil would evil exist in our world?

Well - that's my 2 cents.

Just met my son's girlfriend

so after meeting her, i'm thinking back to when i was 17 and had my first real love.

he was "worldly" .

It was painful. But I look at it this way - if I hadn't gone through that I might not have seen the REAL truth and then my kids would have to suffer through it. I'd gladly suffer any amount of pain to spare it from them. Guess I'm just glad it's all over.

that you could now go back and confront or "speak" with who would it be.. during my df'ing there was actually 4 elders, 1 had to leave during the process due to a medical reason with the family, 1 i really had not issue with, and 1 was a life long friend of the family who's daughter was df'd by my father.

the other however, man i would love to be able to just debate with this guy.

he flat out lied 4 x's during the proceeding and i busted him everytime, nothing was done and nothing was said.

I wish I could go back to my last JC - but not to argue with the "brothers" - but to bring up some things I now know about. Who knows - I could have planted a seed with them had I know more about the JW history of false prophecies, the UN thing, the pedophile issue, etc. etc etc - not to mention the scriptures I have now learned that show the exact OPPOSITE of what the JW's teach.

Yep - it sure would be interesting! Of course - I wouldn't want them to decide I was repentant. Being DF'd was the first step to my freedom - I don't think I could have ever left on my own.

what does freedom in christ mean?

I share the same sentiment that DJ expressed.

For me it was freedom from guilt. I'm not afriad of "Armageddon" anymore - I'm not afraid of committing that "unforgivable sin". I know that I screw up - but I try my best and as long as I have a sincere heart and ask for forigivness, I WILL be forgiven.

As a JW I never understood the scripture "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" - I knew the JW line on it, but it didn't really make sense. Now I know what it means. Freedom from fear and guilt - as Jesus said, I came to give life and life to the fullest.

in the spirit of minimus i thought i'd put a positive spin on things.

they say when you surrond yourself with the positive its easier to be positive and vice versa for negativity (no offense to min as i also fully believe that you have to deal with negativity too).... that being said....whats the nicest thing, compliment, gift etc that anyone has ever said or done to/for you?.

I have lots of stories - but I think the one that touches me the most is when my son (17 years old) told me one day just recently how much I meant to him and how great a mom I had been to him. WOW - and it wasn't even Mother's Day!

Yep - she's really cute too! He's had a few girlfriends before, but until now he has been much more interested in sports and cars - this new girl seems to have turned his attention a bit more.

So after meeting her, I'm thinking back to when I was 17 and had my first REAL love. He was "worldly" and what a ruckus THAT one caused! Isn't that just STUPID!! My parents weren't worried about my grades, my future career, anything like that, they just didn't want people to find out I had a wordly boyfriend. We had to sneak around to see each other - and of course, I got busted and in trouble. One night after my mom caught me sneaking around she kept me up into the wee hours reading my bible scriptures - yea - THAT did a lot of good! After we broke up I fell in love again - this time with an elder's son - quite in love we were - but his parents hated me - because I wasn't GOOD enough for their son - so - once again - I had to sneak around. We got busted too and were forbidden to see each other.

But you know - instead of feeling bad about this, I just feel so excited for my son that he doesn't have to go through that. He will have a NORMAL dating relationship - he's happy!

It heals my heart to know that the bull$h!t stopped with ME and was not passed on to another generation . I'm a very happy camper tonight!

PS...in case you were wondering.......the "elder's son" turned out to be a real LOOSER - I now thank god that his parents hated me and wouldn't let us get married! Otherwise I would never have met this great man that I'm married to now - you know - the one WITHOUT the messed up JW background

i don't think she has posted this yet.

mulan called me yesterday afternoon to tell me her dad had suffered a stroke.

i did talk to my dad last night and he seemed to think that grandpa was going to be ok. i had a birthday party with nine little girls all afternoon and was completely out of touch as a result.. i think she could use a hug, don't you?.

Breaking News from the WTS - The Time of the End is Near!

in fact, it is very, very soon.

my jw honey came back from the meeting with this earth-shattering announcement.

he is prancing around the house with this new-found knowledge that i have not had the priveledge to hear, understand, or appreciate.. got any good comeback lines?

I agree - all this talk about Armageddon just around the corner - what an obvious scare tactic. And the sad part is that it REALLY affects the kids. I was terrified of Armageddon and had nightmares as early as I can remember.

What I find really funny is that the JW's really miss the big picture. That is - you can die at any minute from any number of reasons (hit by a bus, heart attack, car wreck, etc) - and then...I guess...that's YOUR end - your Armageddon if you will. So why worry about the BIG Armageddon - chances are you'll leave this world long before that one hits. Just live your life the way you think you should and it won't matter whether it's Armageddon that brings an end to this world - or your untimely death.

Whatever.....they waste an awful lot of time and energy worrying about things like that. How about spending that time and energy REALLY reading the bible - or hey - how about helping out with a charity??? What a novel idea
