you can ask them why the bible writers Matthew, Mark etc did put their names on there writings

how can someone or something have no beginning?
i can understand having no end, but to have no beginning is something i never did understand.
i guess that i'm not the only one.
Our understanding is limited by the universe as WE know it.
For example, what if you could step into a 2 dimensional universe - then try to explain to them what a 3 dimensional universe was like.
Now - try to imagine a dimension without time.
The apostle Peter warned about apostates who would use "counterfeit words", spread "deceptive teachings", and 'twist the scriptures' to their own ends.

example:witnesses have given up their lives rather than take a life saving blood transfusion.other witnesses would rather die before they would betray the society or their brothers.they would become a martyr for jehovah / wt.society if it came down to it.they would in effect put their head on a platter so to speak.the yearsbooks relate expieriences of such ones.. there might of been a time when i would of done this,but not now.other than the natural instinct of protecting your loved ones even dying for them,or defending your country,which is understandable,knowing what you know now ,would you die for a cause.. blueblades
I believe I would die for freedom. For the right to decide. If I protect that right now then I ensure that right for my children and my grandchildren.
witnesses are taught that they must love their neighbor and jehovah god.
when persons fade away or leave abruptly or get disfellowshipped, you often hear this statement:"well, they obviously never really loved jehovah anyway"........looking back, can you say that at one time you really did love jehovah?
I do not believe it is possible to love the "God" of the JW's. You can try to convince yourself you do, talk about how much you do, perhaps even believe you do IF and only IF you don't concentrate on that subject too much.
Somewhere in my heart I wanted to know God and wanted to love him, but I couldn't. Like other posters have stated -how can you love someone who is so scary?!
I started discovering him in the past few years (post JW) - and I don't know that I am yet at the point where I can say I love him because I don't REALLY know him yet. But I am recognizing what he is doing in my life, and how much he loves me......and I'm getting there.
I don't think the Jews got him either. I personally think a lot of what is in the Old Testament is their own perception of God. I am starting to wonder if this wasn't part of why Jesus came - to set the record straight?! It would make some sense as to why the God of the old testament and God of the new testament are so different.
Anyways......I don't know yet that I can say I love God.......but I sure like the one I'm learning about now. And I definately want him in my life.

I don't view them as "weak" - I view them as teetering on the edge of Freedom. All they need is a little help.
But I've also run into elders and their wives out at lunch. And I run into lots of them at the grocery store in the evening - since the local hotels are close to us also.

Now that I'm out - I take REAL vacations.......Disneyland, Mexico, trips to the Mountains........It's so great to actually LIVE now!

Actually - I look forward to the conventions. We have a large convention center that is used for assemblies all summer long. And since lunch is no longer served "on-site" - most JW's wander off to the local restaurants.....where I take MY lunch and always find them most willing to strike up a conversation about their name tag......which leads to even more fun when I ask those "tough" questions......
I bet I can get in quite a few "service hours" this summer
she always calls me at work.
i haven't heard from her in almost 3 months.
(she never calls anywhere near the holidays.

That's exactly what my hubby says! It pisses me off too! But when I tried to do absolutely nothing at all for her I ended up feeling like a jerk......so I decided to do only enough to make MYSELF feel better and nothing more. As long as I'm feeling good about myself I guess the effort isn't lost.
It's too bad she can't see what all she's loosing. Not just me - but her grandchildren too. My daughter will definately not be going out there to spend time with grandma - I won't allow her to develop a relationship with someone who may reject her in the future. And my son, who will be 18 this month, has not been out to see her for quite some time now.
It's sad - she could have family around her all the time and instead she's living all alone. I wonder how long her dubbie friends will be there when she can no longer make it to meetings or service......perhaps a call on her once a month to count their time???
