Cold hearted JWs

it just amazes me.

i sent the articles on child molestation to a jw back in wisconsin and her response was "so?".

my son sent the articles to a jw couple he thought were friends and their response was that the victims should keep quiet so as not to bring reproach on jehovah's organization and then they went to the elders and accused my son and daughter-in-law of being apostates.. they can be so cold hearted and never miss a chance to back stab a best friend.. well, it did accomplish one thing.

Not all JW's will act out that way. I spoke with my mom this afternoon and asked her if she heard about the upcoming Dateline segment. She didn't so I filled her in a bit.

She said she and my dad (an elder before he passed away recently) had talked about this a few times and she disagreed with the Organization's stand on handling things internally. She feels that not only should it be reported to the police, but there should be an announcement made at EVERY Kingdom Hall that person ever goes to.

Of course, being just a "sister" she didn't have much say, she doesn't like the current policy but doesn't see how she could do anything to change it - she still believes it is Jehovah's Organization. She is planning to watch the Dateline show and is hoping it will prod the society to make some changes.

i would like to dialog with any jw's.

i have some questions that i hope you can answer or if you cannot just say so.. my first question:.

jesus is called the son of god (john 3:16).

Similarly, Revelation refers to the "Lion of the tribe of Judah," as if Jesus were presently a Judian.

What about this? If Jesus was resurrected as a fleshly body, then he would still be a human and a Judian.

Seems to me this argument doesn't really support your stance as it could be used to prove that Jesus was actually resurrected back to a fleshly body.

Also - what's your take on Luke 24:39? "See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; feel me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones just as you behold that I have." (NWT)

You betcha it was his conscience!!

I was molested by a family member when I was 4 years old. Of course, I never told anyone until I was an adult. First it was fear (he said I'd never see my parents again if I told), then it was shame and I was convinced noone would believe me.

All the time I was growing up if the subject of pedophiles/molestation was to come up this molestor would go off about how discusting those people are and that they should be killed, etc. etc - very emotional about it. What a hypocrite!!

I find it funny that he would react more emotionally than I did. Conscience is a strong thing!!

Where is the Great Crowd?

this post is mainly for non_trias_theos - but any of you who are jw's feel free to respond.

i know this should probably be posted on the bible research board, but being that "non" is a newbie i wasn't sure he'd check there.. question - where is the great crowd?.

read the verses (revelation 7:9) in revelation that refer to the great crowd (or multitude) and tell me where they are in those verses.

well last night finally did it for me.. i was over at stephanie's house, just as friends, and i was on the net while she was doing homework and was in the chat room and she got on the phone.

it sounded like it was mandy.

Katie: I hope you will take some of the people up on their offers here to call and talk - it really will help to vent your feelings to someone.

I know what pain you are going through - my heart hurts just thinking about your situation right now. I, like many others here, suffered a terrible heart break and loss in my past and I wanted so badly to kill myself so I wouldn't hurt any more. Please take my advice - I've been there!! E-mail someone on this board that you feel compelled to talk to and let them call you. Talking DOES help you through until time starts to heal.

Name some practices of the WTS that are'nt bibical

my personal hell has started since i told my wife i was stepping down and why i was doing so.

she has barely said 2 sentences to me in the last 24 hours, but i can understand her being upset so i'm trying my best to remain patient.. yesterday afternoon i told my cousin who is also one of my closest friends about my decision.

we ended up talking about it for more than 4 hours.

How about WHERE the Great Crowd is located? The JW's teach that the 2nd class of Christians, the Great Crowd, will be here on earth. However, if you read in Revelation, the two places where it mentions the Great Crowd they are located BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD - which of course, is in heaven right?!

i feel sorry for y'all, it's a shame millions are turning away from the bible> make note: you cant not believe in god the father & the messiah if you do not believe in the bible .

jesus: surely i come quickly> christ time period is different than man eyes... same as jehovah, but know that armageddon will come!

u2k: changing the world this dec, watch how i help the world, doing everything for jehovah god & the messiah, continue to watch 24/7 and survive till the end of age, and to stand before the son of man- luke 21:36 *crying* .

I'm a little lost here -what do you mean? I am a born again Christian and study the bible regularly. I have turned TO THE BIBLE instead of TO AN ORGANIZATION. I believe in God the Father & the Messiah - so what's up?!

Faithful: You are so right!

As a JW I prayed daily, but basically they were mindless 10 minute or less "Thanks for the food" type of prayers.

In the last year I have learned how to REALLY pray - and what an open door! One time I prayed for almost an hour straight, and I felt so great afterwards - I had so much to say and didn't worry about "gee is that ok?" I just told him how I felt, what was on my mind, what I wanted, etc. I didn't get all my answers, but enought to keep me going. If you ask active JW's how long do they pray, I'd be suprised to find more than 2 that pray longer than 5 minutes at a time!
