a little background -- about a month ago, i was telling my brother (not jw) about the jw involvement with the un and why it would freak out the average dub.

the little fart (well, he is three years my junior) added the po's wife to his msn contact list and changed his screen name to "jw part of the un".

she sent a freaked out message to him "how did you get my address?

all right you guys.... i discovered this wonderful, helpful, supportive site of unconditional acceptance a month ago.

since then, i've read miles of posts, bookmarked countless reference sites, downloaded all of sol's stuff... and obviously, as well, have sacrificed a bit of my usual gym time for my healing, as i've seemed to have added about 6-7 pounds to my ass.

aaaarrrgghhh... but they're happy pounds.

you know.... one of those jws who nods slightly in agreement with a point the speaker makes?

i've seen this lots at assemblies etc but we do have a local nodder; we call her bonnie bobble-head cuz she reminds me and the kids of the bobble-heads for car dashes.

My small but hopefully mighty note to the newspaper

it's not terribly impressive, but given the small size of this town and the small number of pubs at the kh, this might be relatively huge.. i just emailed this to the newspaper editor today:i gave blood tuesday, april 4th for the first time.

somewhere, someone's life might be saved by my donation.

i work at **** hospital*** and have seen blood used to bring color to someone's granny's cheeks, to help a new mom recover from a difficult childbirth and to give a young man with cancer a higher count so that he can receive chemotherapy and continue his fight.

i'm in such a weird funk.

but i'm funky... i guess i *do* somewhat miss a few of the 'friends' at the kh.

i've always wondered why the wtbs uses ce and bce instead of bc and ad.

i'd always meant to ask, but then it kind of got to the point where it would look 'bad' if i didn't already know, so was afraid to ask.

I bought a birthday present today

my middle kid turns 10 this wednesday.

it will be the first b-day present i've ever bought her.... (gawd, now i'm tearing up)

what i'm needing is a little help easing into actually giving it to her as she's known for the previous 9 years, 364 days that celebrating birthdays are bad, bad bad.

it's hard to know where to begin, so i'll just... begin.. i had my first encounter with jw in high school when my now ex-husband moved into our small town.

(you're doing the math already, aren't ya?

:) ) after finding out he was a jw, i did a little bit of reading into it, which he discouraged... told me that that stuff is "apostate" (i had no idea what that meant) and that he'd give me stuff to read.
