  NEVER!!! (!!! 3 times for empasis (sp))

  The only thing I remember when I was asked a question was to look it up in the Watchtower pubs. If there happened to be scriptures to back it up...all the better.

  GET INTOUCH WITH YOUR FAMILY DAY

  there has been a number of discussions lately about not just accepting being shunned by family so i was thinking why not set aside a yearly day to get in touch with family...send a card,text,email to parents and siblings etc not saying anything controversial...just being nice..saying we miss them we love them and anytime they want to meet or write or visit they would be more than welcome..it other words dont treat them like they treat you..do you think that it is a good idea...if so reply here but also spread the word.....if this has been suggested before please excuse me...im new to the world.

  lets make it 10th of may every year...dont think there are any other holidays on that date

  My MS brother.

  He being married, in his mid to late 30's and actively pursueing (sp) a 17 year old pioneer sister. While doing this he also was an out and out drunk.

  He got deleted as an elder for a while but he is once again an elder.

  Last I heard, a couple of months ago, he is now being considered to be a CO.

  The Cross

  i hope you wonderfull people can help me out here.. i have a friend, now exjw, doing research on the cross.

  i remember reading some excellent stuff on this site a few years back on this.

  i can't seem to locate the older posts about the cross research.

  I'm sorry I can't help you on the link to the thread on the cross. I do remember from that thread (or another one) that at the time Jesus was crucified there were 2 ways the Romans crucified.

  1) On a cross.

  2) On a stake.

  I have not found anything in the bible that states which way the Romans chose for Jesus.

  the nearest i came was knocking myself out - my life actually did flash before my eyes.

  it could only have been seconds before bumping my head and hitting the ground, but i flashed through scene after scene of life events, from childhood to adulthood.

  I don't know if this qualifies, but after one of my c-sections I had the surgery and was put in my room, after being sent to my room I was overhead looking upon a prone body with nurses and a Dr. working on someone. Come to find out, it was me. I don't know if it was due to aenesthesia or if it was real.

  I debated with my "devout" JW mom and her JW elders for 5 hours

  as most of you know by now i have told you that my mom has been a "devout" jw for over 40 years and i can't get her to budge.

  well the last time we debated she left me totally confused and in a daze.

  i did some fast research and this past sunday we had a free-for-all debate that lasted 5 hours.

  I truly empathise with what happened to you. I truly hope that you can come to grips with the unfairness of this cult.

  I also have to agree with others who mentioned the nurse/doctor analagy. Having been in the nursing career at one time I know for a fact that the only way a sane nurse would claim to be a doctor, as in this analagy, would be "tongue in cheek." As for a nurse claiming to be a doctor...again any sane nurse would not, could not (sounds like Dr. Suess, lol) do that as it is against the law and the nurse could lose his/her license for good.

  i doubt that it could even intercept one missile coming at us.. do you feel safer with this defense system?.

  God's intervention?

  do you perceive that god intervenes in your daily life?.

  for instance , if you were not making enough money to cover your unexpected expenses would you pray specifically to god for that expense or expenses to be covered?

  did he provide?.

  I do not believe that God intervenes in anyone's life. If he did he would not allow horrible things to happen to innocent children. My child would not have died at a mere 27 days.

  This reminds me of my experience with my brother a couple of years ago. I wish I had kept his correspondance with me. He was 36 and an Elder. He was infatuated with a 17 year old Pioneer. The things he said to me in IM/PM/EMAIL would curl the ears of the most deviant out there about her.

  He was deleted as an Elder at the time because of this. He was then reinstated as an Elder a few years later. Now, he is being asked to be a CO. He went through their Spanish education (he learned Spanish and joined a Spanish Congregation) and is now giving talks in Spanish.

  I for one would be terribly afraid of this man being in control. Just think of it. Sometimes a CO is looked upon as an icon, someone to strive for. A man in his position could take advantage of many women and get away with it. After all there is the 2 witness rule.
