  my wife went into my email and found out i have been looking at porn and chatting with other women she went to the elders and told them i go before them on sunday.

  what do you think my fate will be

  To have committed pornea, you would have had to actually manipulate the other person's genitalia or engage in sex relations. I don't see how cyber-sex falls into that category, since the person stimulates him/herself.

  In a Question From Readers a few years back, a guy wrote in that his wife had admitted to fantasizing about another guy. He asked if he could divorce her on the grounds of fornication. The answer given was no, since no actual sex had taken place. I wish I could remember which issue of the WT that was, but offhand I cannot recall; I only recall that it may have been written about 5-7 years ago, but maybe more.

  partly, it's my fault for not being more specific.. i wanted windows installed in my house.

  Oh and one other thing wiz, I do not and never did employ anyone. I work for a local employer and I'm on a payroll just like the others who work with me.

  Again, I should have been more specific when I posted on the JW Bosses matter. I guess I am still afraid that the dubs will find me out and come and get me!

  I wanted windows installed in my house. That's the work I was referring to. I contacted jw friends of mine who are in the home remodeling/window install business. They failed to show up to give me estimates. So I contacted a local "wordly" company and they gave me an estimate and did the work on schedule.

  Talk with a Governing Body member

  what would you say to a governing body member if you had the chance?

  a few years back while i was a jw i visited my sister and brother-in-law at bethel.

  well, after the grand tour of crooklyn, the farm and having dinner with the bethel family i had the honor of attending the sunday meeting at a congregation where a couple of the governing body members attended.

  About 15 years ago, Fred Franz came to our area, and he was in the back seat of a friend's car and they stopped by the house we were socializing in at the time. I went out to the car to say hi to the little old dude, an he seemed unassuming enough. Then they departed. Also, a couple of yrs ago, Carey Barber member gave a couple of talks at our cicuit assembly. His talks were rather boring and really very unsubstantive. He kept repeating "you don't have to be disfellowshipped", a statement that I found to be odd to say the least. Then, afterward, he came to the front of the hall and pretty many friends were trying to greet him. I went over and said hello. I felt like asking him if he was having an autograph-signing session, but just passed along after saying hello.

  I dont remember the date I was baptized....

  you know how at every baptismal talk they say to the candidates that they should 'make a note of this date june, 4 whatever..ect'?

  and everyone knows that date for like the rest of their life?

  Hey closer2fine, I was also baptized at Buckingham Pa, in 1973.

  One thing that gets me is that the baptism decision is supposed to be the most important in life (according to the jws) and yet they persist in almost demanding that young teens and those even younger get baptized. Considering the weight of such a decision, I feel strongly that it ought to be put off until one is older, just like marriage (which the jws almost demand be put off until one is older and more experienced in life). So many kids are pressured to be baptized by adults that are supposedly looking out for them. And when the kid does put off making a dedication, the parents are often judged as being deficient spiritually, and so is the child.

  JW Bosses

  do they close up shop for the holidays?.

  as jw's we didn't mind having the day off and, judging from the holidays i was out in service as a new jw, most did not use that day to knock on doors.. but what if your boss is a jw and so are the employees, do they get the holiday off?

  I know of a couple of JW Bosses myself, and I would not want to work for them. Some other Jws who did had complaints about them. And yes, I think that they do at times take advantage of their fellow jws.

  I have another take on this, and that has to do with doing business with jws. For example, I had some work at home that I needed to hire out for. I contacted to jw friends who are in that line of work, and they put me off and put me off and never even came to give me estimates. Finally, I contacted a "worldly" contractor, and the estimate was given within a dew days and the work was done on schedule.

  I will not do business with jws for that reason, and I tell my jw friends that the brothers that I have tried to hire have proven unreliable. I honestly think that they take advantage of their own brothers, thinking that they can put them off almost indefinitley and that their brothers will understand. Well, quite frankly, I got fed up with that.

  ANy ideas on ridding of dubs?

  anyone have any good ideas on how to keep dubs from constantly returning??

  they don't seem to leave the area alone with just requests and they are preying on those who live in a development that do not have the money to file a lawsuit.

  All of the above are good suggestions. I have no new ones to add, but wanted to relate a thought that I have often had while going door-to-door and at times seeing signs on doors or property that would prohibit a JW visit: 'If more and more people would post such signs, what would we do then?'. In other words, neighbors could collaborate and effectively end the preaching work in their area. Sometimes I wonder why more people don't do so.

  I was at the meeting when the letter was read telling the US branch that subscriptions would be discontinued.

  The US Postal Service has access to virtually every home in the US. It surprises me that the "Christian Congregation Of Jehovah's Witnesses" (as the letter stated) would not do just about anything to continue the flow of "spiritual food" in such a way, since using the Postal Service is a tremendous advantage in that regard.

  Perhaps it is the "bottom line" that counts most.

  And yes, Pastor Russell did indeed state that funds would not be begged for and that if funds were no longer available that God's use of the WT would end. Maybe that end is near.

  The no sex before marriage teaching (common to many religions but seldom enforced judicially as it is with jws) seems to propel many young dubs into early marriages, as has already been noted by room215.
  And yes, there is that pioneer/bethel pressure too. I know of many jws who were married young in the 1970s and have been divorced for many years.

  Dinosaurs killed in flood?

  i was thrift store shopping as i always do on saturdays, and came across some older jw literature (as i often do at thrift stores) it was a very simple tract, i forgot the title, but it had a picture of the flood, and if you look closely you see a dinosaur drwoning in the flood.

  was this really the official position of the society, and is that still the case?

  you'd have to be astoundingly ignorant of science to beleive dinosaurs walked the earth with man only 6,000 years ago.. -dan

  A cover article of Awake addressed the matter of the dinosaurs; it was printed about 4-5 yrs ago. The article maintained that God "ended their [the dinosaur's] life" but it did not specify when. The article did say that scientific evidence shows that man and dinosaurs did NOT live at the same time, so any former teaching that they died at the flood has since been dropped, and rightfully so.
