  just wanted to run an informal poll to see how "effective" or hopelessly "ineffective" the borg tract assimilation drive has been.. i for one, have not received the tract, and i live in densely populated development.

  No I don't care if people are gay or not. Live and let live is my motto. Even when I was a dub it didn't bother me.
  
  My parents and my sister, who are still dubs, however are the biggest homophobes you'll ever meet. That's Christian love for ya!

  " well technically speaking it is of course, but how do you feel about this saying?

  it implies that those people you have a biological link with are somehow "extra special".

  I don't know if you have children or not. But in my life my children come before anyone and I will always love them unconditionally until the day I die.
  
  In that case blood is thicker than water. But as for all my other blood relatives that are currently shunning me - the jury's out on that one!

  i was recently pmed about celebrating holidays, and thought it might be worthwhile posting a thread about it, even though it has been covered many times before.

  the explanation i give below is a mini-refutation of the ills of enjoying such "decadence": please feel free to add comments, though if it must be an essay please keep it short enough to be readable without the need to go to the restroom for a bladder-bursting break!!!.

  "there is no new thing under the sun" eccl.1:9.. if paganism can be called a distinct religion (given that it has as many amorphous guises as christian denominations), then it already did everything and tried everything, not really leaving an awful lot for any subsequent religion to uniquely call its own.

  Christmas, birthdays, halloween, mother's day, father's day, valentine's day, easter - I say bring it on.

  UK & IRELAND MAP

  i had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).

  (and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).

  anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.

  Just my story

  since i have been out, i am still amazed when i find someone who is no longer a jw.

  the funny thing is, i am always amazed at how many people it is just a casual fact about their past that they don't think anything of.

  the more and more i think about it, the more i realize that most people were just able to blow it off, and then there are a few of us who it actually left deep marks on us.
