HELPING DANSK!
by Dansk ini apologise for taking the liberty of using my alias to attract attention but a number of people have contacted me to ask what they could do to help by way of being a stem cell donor (without a stem cell donation soon i will likely die).
i cannot express enough just how appreciative i am for such wonderful thoughtful gestures.
it is possible that your stem cells are a perfect match for me and that you could literally save my life.. however, if you are not a match you could very well save someone else's life - so do please consider being a stem cell donor.

When You Hear of a Witness Getting Sick or Dying, Does It Bother You?
by minimus inwhen you hear that old brother so-and-so died or that sister elder's wife is very ill, do you feel bad?--------- like you want to call the family, see the sick former friends?

Would they feel sorry if it were one of us that were sick and dying? I think the answer to that would be a big fat NO.

Thanks for your post Ian. You have made me decide something right here and now. I will go and give blood, which I have been meaning to do for ages. I will ask them about stem cell donation too. That's it, I'm going to look at the website right now and see when I can go.

in case you've forgotten them, i'll list them (in case i've forgotten one, please refresh me):.
the 3 (sometimes more) day district convention .

I always hated the "Special Talk". It was always the same boring drivel we had to listen to during the other 51 public talks of the year.

Make a graph of ifinite time, tie a blindfold around your eyes and stick a pin in anywhere on the graph.
That's how the society figure out what is VERY SOON NOW.

To all JW lurkers
by Junction-Guy inperhaps you have been reading this board for awhile, and you may believe some of the things we have been saying, however you are still gripped in fear of armageddon.. .
the wt society has been predicting armageddon for well over 100 years, and when the prophecies fail, they blame you and say "we never said that".
if i can impart any words of wisdom to you, it's just this:.

Welcome Lost&confused and MrChuffster. It's good to lurk and read a few things that will help you decide on a positive course of action to take. You sound like you both already know it's not the truth but the family pull is a big one. A slow fade is always a good idea in this situation.
Love Marie. XXX

My Dad died on Friday
by littlemike ini dont often post on here but lurk everday.
i was an elder for 11 years, raised as a witness from birth and eventually left in 2002 aged 42.. my dad died on friday aged 87. he was a witness baptized in 1940. he was congregation servant and then elder in hull, england.. we were arranging his funeral tonight with my 2 brothers who are still witness elders.
all they were interested in was what he had done in the "truth".

Sorry for your loss.
About sending your reasons for leaving to your close friends - don't do it. It's not worth it. You'll lose far more than you'll gain. It sounds like you still have a relationship with your jw family, so it's not worth jeopardising that is it?

Happy Birthday Renee.
My mum, dad and sister have always wished me and my children a happy birthday by text message. That was when I was a jw and also have continued to do so since I have been df'd. I also got a card and a gift from my parents when I turned 18.
They are all devout jws. Go figure!
