I hate having JW parents.
by reneeisorym ini'll try to make this long story short.. in october ... about 3 days before i left for a trip my mother decided to have my cell phone cut off.
i've had my bill in my mom's name since i was 16 and have always paid it since i was old enough to work.
but .. out of pure spite, she cut off my phone.

Congratulations on your engagement. Please go ahead and have the wedding you've always dreamed of. If your parents don't show it will be their loss not yours. My parents didn't come to my second wedding, and I can honestly say it didn't really bother me.

Gays Leave JWD!
by hambeak ini got a phone call from a person that i gave my phone # to.
and this person said that gays are not welcome here and this is not what this board was really about.
i told them that this is only one part of the crap that the wts did to people and that we are people too.

Hi Hambeak, I would say EVERYONE is welcome on jwd, especially gays. I'm sure they have more to deal with when leaving the org if it involves coming out as well. I know I'm here to support anyone who needs it. In fact I think jwd would be a much duller place without our gay friends.
I think the guy who phoned you still has jw tendencies, perhaps he doesn't want gays on this forum. -

DOES MONEY BUY HAPPINESS?
by Mary ini think most of us were probably trained to believe that money can't buy happiness, but is that really true?
i know i'd be a hell of a lot happier with more money....what about you?
of course, there are the big examples we all know of---people who had lots of money, fame, but they weren't happy.

Of course money buys happiness!!
But it's not the only thing that brings happiness into your life.
The other things are being content in your beliefs, being with the right life partner, having children, being in good health and working in a satisfying job. -

I'm dating a JW, and need some advice!
by changtech ini'm new here, and have read a lot of topics here.
this site has been very helpful to me in the short time i have been here.. what has drawn me here is the fact that i have been dating an active jw guy for about 9 months now (i was raised catholic, but am currently searching for a faith that i feel is right..i have yet to find it).
we are very much in love, but our differences in beliefs have caused a lot of problems.

I think you will be starting to get the picture. We really think you should walk away from this relationship, for your own good.
But I think you already know that. Good luck with the break up. It will be hard but worth it in the long run. -

my cat died today... i need consoling...
by theinfamousone inthis is the guy that sat on my razor blades the one time i was thinking of cutting myself... this is the guy that everytime my dad beat me, would come to my room and lay with me... this is the guy that one time jumped into the bathtub with me while i was crying after a brutal beating, the cat hated water... this is a cat that was more family to me than my own father and mother combined... this was my best friend... .
today i had to do the hardest thing i ever did, i had to choose to have him put down... and as he fought the vet, and tried to bite her, i put my hand on his head, and he stopped struggling... and as they put the last needle into his leg, he purred until he died... the vet says she has never seen that before... this was my best friend and i had to kill him... fuck, im a baby, but i miss him soooo much.
the infamous one.

Aaaah that cat sounded amazing. It's no wonder you're upset.
It will get better in time but I expect that's little comfort now.

we're back from the hospital
by BlackSwan of Memphis inok well the tonisllectomy went well.
they got the tonsils and the adenoids and didn't go ahead with the tubes in her ears.. they kept her overnight because of her history with the apnea and with the anasthesia, they wanted to keep an eye on her for one night.
we got back this morning.. she did awesome!!!!

Glad the op went well.
Just a bit of advice though, I was told when my son had his tonsils and adenoids out (aged 3) that you shouldn't feed them jello and soft foods, but things like toast and crunchy cereals and potato chips. Doing this removes any build up on the scar in the throat. If they only eat soft foods then a thick scab can build up on the scar and if it shears off this can cause a haemorrage.
My little one was eating toast on the same day as he had the op with no problems at all. -

The Red, White and Blue flies high!
by AK - Jeff ini have never owed a flag, certainly never flown one at my home.
today i hung one proud and high on my front stoop.
i bought two of them - one will likely be hung in the back entrance area.

Welcome to flag flying normality.
I put England flags on my car this summer for the football world cup, for the first time ever.
I took them off when I visited my jw mum though. Still scared of being told off at age 39!!! -
