Introduction
by Creeper ini thought it would be polite if i just introduced myself.
i am a former jehovah's witness that left studying a few years back for the purpose of solace and grace in my life, freedom from the hypocrisy of men, and the teachings which the bible does not correspond with.
i have since adopted a more simple way of living, and no longer have to worry about ring around the collar, or that book study that i never read ahead for.

Too funny purp! Let's hope that this is all she does should she find out cause a bashed up car is nothing in comparison to what some people have done to a cheating spouse!!

No not in love w/ him. I cannot help but wonder what the deal was, why did he need to do what he did. I also feel sorry for his wife. Because I do believe that if people are not in an open marriage, then someone who cheats will always cheat, causing the innocent spouse to be totally devastated. As selfish as it is to say ... THANK GOD IT IS NOT ME.

I have always said as women we down play our intuition, when we should rely on it more. Words I should have lived by.
Several years ago I dated a guy for 2 years. He lived in the burbs and I was in the City. He owned his own business and I was new to job. I worked long hours in a legal factory of sorts. We saw each other but not every day, which was great, our relationship was good. He almost always came to be with me. Initially I thought that was great, but then I started wondering about that but since I did go to his place a few times, I thought all was fine. After 2 years of dating he decides he is going to move to AZ. I do not want to move, so that ends the relationship. The end was not the best. He continued to call, but I ignored his calls. A year passes and he returns to IL. He starts calling again and eventually I talk to him. He apologizes for some stuff that caused the conflict before he left and we start going out to dinner and eventually we start dating again. Then after 6 months he disappears. Now during the 6 months I get a strange feeling, but I can never put my finger on anything. This was around a year ago that he disappears.
So this week I hear from a friend of mine who is a teacher up in the burbs and she talks about a fund raiser and she mentions one of the big sponsors and it was this guy (again he is a business owner up in the burbs). Then she mentions his WIFE! WTF!!! I ask how long they have been married. Yup, you guessed it. That second 6 month retread, he was MARRIED! I found out from my GF his wife is a long time GF that was going to college in AZ and they waited to get married til she finished college and returned home.
Needless to say, I feel like a fool. I know that I did not intentionally date a married man, but WTF! I cannot help but kick myself for not listening to my intuition which was telling me DANGER DANGER. So take it from me women, if you have a gut feeling .... GO WITH IT cause most likely you are correct.

WTS, religion, all or nothing-Sunday KH-goers
by JWdaughter inwhen i was a jw, i thought (because that is what i had been taught) that there is only one true religion, that it was all or nothing.
i read here so often (most recently sweetpea) of experiences and discussions with jws who know it isn't all right, but they are in it for various reasons-basically a lot of 'its better than what i knew before' and 'what will happen if i leave???'.
i wonder now how many jws did not have the idea that it is the truth, but didn't really care?

I think some of it has to do with certain generations. My group of friends are mostly open minded. A few are die hards, but most of them say that they believe 75% of what the jws teach. As my mom got older she became the all or nothing generation. You know the generation that is spoon feed and believes 100%. My grandparents always believed it 100%.

A woman who was not considered a strong jw lost her young daughter to a horrible car ax. The funeral was at the hall and meal after was at the woman's home (her hubby was not jw). Well the PO of the hall was best friends w/ a guy who was a jw but his wife was not. It was thought that this good ol' jw man was carrying on w/ the sole pioneer in the hall (who also was very close to the PO and his wife). At the after funeral dinner, the good ol' jw man's worldly wife walked over to the PO, his wife, and the pioneer sister and said "I know you are f*cking my husband and this man (pointing at PO) knows all about it but is ignoring what is happening. If I get proof, which I know I will, I am taking you good fine JWs down and I mean all of you!" And the woman left. Of course all the jws were mortified and said it was a bad witness to the dead girl's non-believing dad. But the saddest part was that the jws always talked bad about the worldly woman who outed her hubby and his mistress.

There was a special on A&E (I think) and it was about some of the lottery winners and how their lives have changed and not always for the good. I suppose it is like everything, with the good comes the bad.

Words Jehovers Witnesses Pronounce wrong...

why was there a group in every hall that pronounced some words like a bad english accent.

Depends on where you are from. I have friends from the land of Oz and they hate everything that comes out of an American mouth. According to them, we over pronounce everything and even add extra sylabels. Of course I beg to differ. But I can say this, while traveling in Europe I could never understand someone with a Welsh accent. While traveling in the southern states, I cannot understand people w/ thick southern accents. I like the midwest nasal accent the best. Though I have had friends make fun of me for using the term "pop" and saying Wizconnson (sounds more like I am talking thru my nose then my mouth).
