www.pandora.com i've mentioned this one before but for music lovers it's fantastic.
you don't download music, you just listen to it.
you can create as many "stations" as you want and you can even refine them.

i have been bombarded all week about going and have been seriously thinking about it.. i guess i am more curious about its new location this year more than anything.. should i go?.
smoky.
Yes, they had them at the race track the big one Hawthorne and Sportsman. Those are the ones I was raised w/. I went 1/2 a day to the one at the Cell (what use to be called Comiskey Park). My friends and I showed up late, sat really far up in the bleachers and then left early. I actually like the ones at the race track because I would sneak out and go to where the horses were housed and taken out for their daily jaunts. Also, I love the heat, so it was never an issue for me. Remember the "Gold Cup" room. That was where everyone wanted to sit and would get there early to save seats.
I was allowed free reign at the assemblies and would sit with friends. We learned how to place our bibles on the arm rests and lean on then so we could take naps. We also loved to spy on others. We knew a lot of the guys walking around (you know holding the signs that say "take your seat" or "be quiet") and we would stand around talking to them.
Granted that being said, I would never go back to 2 days of listening to people drone on about how to hate everyone else and how we are superior to everyone else. Reminds me too much of white supremacists and their rants.
about 10 years ago i did a simple projection for when the organisation's annual publisher growth rate would hit zero.
the date i arrived at was 2009. my rough projection was based on the preceding 20 worldwide annual reports.
obviously my projection was wrong.
Well considering that the WTBTS plays fast and loose w/ most of their info, I can see how they would continue to say that they are continuing to have small increases even if it is not true. But really even if they claim that there is no growth, they will have some crazy reason for it (i.e., all of the world has been preached to and the end is REALLY REALLY close)

Why go when you can get the short version here. Where is it being held in IL? Is it in Rockford again? I know that they keep changing the location and ever since the race track they have been unable to keep a location.
well, my 17 year old has left home in a horribly negative way.
she has had many problems for many years.
she ran away a year ago, we dragged her home, took her to the hospital for bulimia and suicidal tendencies.
As someone who's grandmother suffered w/ mental illness and ex-fiancee also suffer w/ the disease, there are little options. But one of your options is to take legal action. If your daughter is really a harm to herself, you can obtain her medical/mental health records (as she is still 17 and is a minor in most states and has not been emancipated). You will need to fill out HIPAA releases to get her records. But after doing so, take them to a professional shrink and have her evaluated. If they deem her a danger to herself and/or others, you are able to take legal action to have her found incompetent. At which point you have control over her and her actions. Ultimately you will have to have her committed and then do your best to maintain her med routine should she ever be released.
My grams was committed and lived in a home for mentally ill patients. The reason being that she could not live on her own otherwise she would stop taking her meds and would try to harm others.
There is NO happy ending to your story. If your daughter does have mental health issues, this is a life long struggle and you have to be the strong one to be able to make the appropriate decisions for her. My mother committed my grams and she still feels guilty about it to this day and my grams has been dead for a while.
My heart goes out to you and your family. You should also look into getting mental health assistance for your own stress and struggles. There are support groups out there.
Much love and peace to you and your family.

with me a couple of times.
after spending decades in the organization, .
Well, I would say that I got my humor from the boyz I grew up w/. However, my personality is part nurture and part nature. So I suspect it is a little of the WTBTS and a little som'n else.
i know this is nothing new- the thought of the bible being just a story and a blend of culture and of how people interpreted the world around them and recorded it as such.
it's very athiest..y, even if don't consider myself an athiest.
because culture and class also affects how people look at the bible whether they believe it or not.
We were middle class, mixed cong and we got the crap beat out of us
We were upper middle class and let me assure you, if you stepped out of line my mother did not blink an eye at smacking you w/ whatever was in her hand (bible, song book, etc.) We had to sit in the front pews of the hall, so it was rather embarrassing to get whacked w/ something that would sound thru out that hall. Some of the kids I grew up w/ thought it was hysterical. But that might have been because 1) it distracted them but for a second from the boring speaker and 2) their parents were totally hands off.
i've looked for a thread but i couldn't find one here.
this is really freaky!
i just don't get how people end up with these psychotic people and not know it.
A staggering number of pregnant women who go missing are ultimately found to be harmed by the father of the child. The US Dept of Justice has numbers on this that would blow your mind.
I have no doubt that at the time these men seem fine. As was pointed out, look at the Peterson case. Heck, look at the Nicole Brown-Simpson case. We can never make sense out of something senseless.
i used to enjoy do paul illingsworth's talks.
he thought he was a greek scholar.. anyone that you liked (or didn't)?.
I really liked Mike and Pat Swanson. They were my favs. For the most part the rest of them were either forgettable or I wished their evilness was forgettable. The worst was Bro. Chinn (sp). I know I went thru this b/4 on another thread. Cannot remember his first name (or in other words cannot bother to remember his first name). He was married to the chick whose mom draws those kids w/ the really big creepy eyes... you know the story ... b/4 she "found the truth" the kids eyes were all sad and then she found the truth and the creepy kids eyes were all happy!
a gf of mine introduced me to a very cool site www.tv-links.co.uk it has links to all kinds of shows.
unfortunately not all the links work, but you can send a message by clicking on the "mark as dead" and someone out there in magic fairly land will check it out and w/i a couple of days it seems to be fixed.
some of you probably already know about this site, but for those of you that are a little behind (like me), check it out, it might just have a few shows for you to enjoy.

Happy viewing. L_G
