Es- i sell wonderbra`s on ebay, have been doing it for a living for over a year now, and it is soooo easy to make a living doing that! Problem is tho` i find i isolate myself by working from home, and it`s not helped me to `get out there` and mix with people which i should really be doing. Still i suppose you can`t have it all, can you?

Is all religion just about personal egotism?
by jambon1 inas an atheist, i feel like i am coming to terms with my mortality.
one day i will die, just like the beasts of the field.
it has lead me to think about the whole concept of religion, a personal god, one who approves or disapproves of our individual actions.

Undecided- i have the same thought`s as you, i`m still not sure about how and why we are here, that`s one of the reasons i stayed a JW for so long, as they seemed to have the best explanation of it all. Now, because i have studied them and not the `truth`, i can`t accept that God, if there is one, would allow them to be his people, with their track record. It would be nice to know the real `truth` about life, and i am still waiting and looking for answers, if there are any that is!

Inbetween, i agree with you about there being a difference, apostates are actively going against the jw teachings and org. whilst exjw`s are not that bothered about doing that. The label apostate sounds horrible i think, but the definition isn`t as bad as it sounds, (can`t remember exactly what it is now tho`) Would the jw`s class anyone who comes on here an apostate, if so i must be one!

" i noticed some of the replies mentioned that getting involved with another xjw would be interesting.

I can`t see myself remarrying, but i would like to meet an exjw, as have been out with a couple of worldly men, and they haven`t got enough upstairs, well, they don`t fully understand us do they? Whenever i meet up with exjw friends, we talk for hours, as we have so much in common, even if it is to exchange horror stories! I know quite a few exjw women who want to meet exjw men, and we did discuss how we could set up a dating site for ex`s, but i`m not that clever to do that, but would definately join if there was one!

Some apostates are more equal than others...
by slimboyfat inever noticed that the most cleverest apostates are the ones that were "brought up in the truth"?
i mean people like little toe, leolaia and narkissos who provide the most intelligent dicsussions on the forum - they never chose the witnesses, but were dragged up in it.
do you think maybe they can't help but look down on the rest of us who were stupid enough to actually choose to become witnesses?

SBF i don`t know how you can make such a sweeping statement like that. I don`t class myself as being less intelligent than some that were born and bred. I went in at 23, and at the time was convinced that it was the truth, the answer to the worlds problems etc. The only difference between those that were brought up in it, is that they have suffered more than those that weren`t!

I Can't Do Any More - Can You?
by Joe Grundy inwhen i first posted here, i explained that it was because although i am not, never have been, never will, be a jw, i have (earthly, as an atheist) loving concern for my jw neighbours/friends.. just recently, i found out that the mom is pregnant.
she is not young, has a 6 year old, and a 2 year old who is like a firecracker!.
i have offered to do basic things like take/collect the 6 year old to and from school, take the kids for walks on beach, etc.

Observing Texan - I don`t think i owe an apology at all, i have given my opinion, and i stick by it. There is no way i would want an old man taking my kids to school, or getting so involved in my family, and i do think it is abnormal for someone to want to do that.

I can`t understand why you are you want to get so involved with this family, and it isn`t normal for a man your age to want to `take kids to school` etc. If you haven`t been a witness, why are you so bothered about the religion? I can understand people that have been involved wanting to help their own family`s of friends, but this seems abnormal to me, sorry.

What do you think about the Yorkshire Ripper being a JW?

if i was an active jw i wouldn`t like the thought of living with him forever, after the way he killed all those women.
what do you think about the fact that they have accepted him to the org?
