Children at the meetings, how did you cope

my son was about 5 years old when we stopped going to the meetings.

the other day i asked him what he remembers about them (his now 14 years old).

he remembered the puzzles i bought him to play with during the meetings.. he remembered that i packed a sandwich and some juice for him to eat in case he got hungry.. when he got board i use to take him outside for a walk around the kh garden.

My parents would beat us in the back room. One time I remember taking the whole row of chairs that were all connected with us, as my dad was dragging me screaming don't beat me. My dad did have anger issues though. My parents got baptized when I was 3. From then on I wasn't allowed to fall asleep. They would hit me for that. No food was allowed in the hall for me and my brother. Even other sisters in the hall would smack us for turning around. And my parents let them... I remember getting hit all of the time out in service too. Wow ... Strange to think of how abused my brother and I were .. oh well

The reason I was thinking about telling the elders was for them to know what I went through. Every time they drug me into the back room was torture. I want them to feel 2 inches high like I did. That was what first turned me off about the witnesses. I'm hoping it would turn them off too. Since neither of them was ever in my situation. I'd like to believe there isn't a god. But for some reason recently I've been praying that something happens and my parents realize it isn't the truth. They moved to this new congregation that worships them. Everybody there thinks they are heaven sent to helps there congregation. I think that is why their faith in the witnesses is so strong recently. If that is gone they would be more susceptible to turn away. I even told my dad he was on a power trip with that cong. I just don't want to miss this opportunity to break their faith. But who knows it might not even do that. Oh.. and my parents definitely wouldn't lie to elders... Well not my mom at least

So my parents said they aren't going to be at my wedding. I called my uncle to try and talk them into it. Being since he isn't a witness. He then proceeds to tell me he smoked pot with them a couple times recently and called them hypocrites. Pissed off I call my parents to try and black mail them. ( Probably a bad idea) I told them I was going to call the elders. Being since my dad is an MS and they are both pioneers. They both tell me it is not a serious sin and isn't something that would warrant a judicial committee since they aren't practicing it. They claim only to have done it a couple times 2 years ago. I think they are wrong. Since some of my friends growing up were DF'd or reproved for it. I don't have access to any watchtower publications for proof for them. If somebody could help me out I'd really appreciate it. At best I'm hoping they feel hypocritical enough to attend my wedding before it's too late. Also some input on if you think I should tell the elders. They seem happy and I'm not sure if I want to ruin that. But then again they did ruin my life, temporarily. I just want them out of the "truth"!!! Maybe this is my way to help that along?

My parents just came back from the annual bethel meeting in Brooklyn. They said only 3 of the GB were there. They felt the need to inform me of everything even though I was in a blur watching TV. When I heard now not all the anointed have to be off the earth before the end comes.. I had to ask them how they decided to come up with that idea? My mom said cause they are Jehovah's chosen ones. So he talks to them now... Well no they have holy spirit so they know. The end is coming blah blah blah... There is going to be a cleansing of the congregations. They gave the illustration of the dragnet.. I haven't been to a meeting since I was 17. I laugh in their face when they have no response except the light gets brighter.. Yet they refuse to believe I want nothing to do with the congregation. My brother told them I was an "apostate". I told them they didn't know the meaning of the word. But according to websters I definitely was.Then my mom said oh don't say that ! Haha Sorry a little off track... Has anyone heard of any other ridiculous teaching from this meeting?

Why can't those brainwashed people see this? It's just a way to make profit off of money that was donated !!!! That shouldn't even be legal

Does anyone know the stats on how many leave? My mother told me that only 87,000 got baptized last year. It seems to me that more would have left then that. Why do they claim to continue to grow? Also, she thought it was strange they seemed to have developed more anointed in the past years. Haha.. Of course she goes on to say well they might have mental handicaps .?.?.? Others I have known that claim to be anointed have been DFed in the past. My mom can't understand that either.. Just says the "light will get brighter" ... I know I would give my right leg and arm just so my parents can realize the truth. I really wish that was an option. I hate having my mother call me crying for the past 5 years saying shes so disappointed in me and herself for me turning out the way I did.

i'm especially interested in any investigations by j. edgar hoover.

have there been any foia requests done of the fbi about investigations of the jw's or their leader(s)?
