i do think that governmental positions should be filled by a diverse group of well-qualified people.. .
but it is very dangerous to allow one party (republican in particular) to have a majority, as has happened in the senate.

I see what you are saying, and there sure are a lot of ways to look at things. I am sure there are a lot of good points either way. One point to consider, though, if there was direct voting, then the farmer in the middle of Kansas would have the same voting power is a corporate CEO of a large downtown city.

the clerk was taking lunch, but called me to make me aware, that john mohammad is being transferred to our facility, and is probably here as i write this.. it is no secret that our prosecutors are tough, and have tried many a big case and gotten the dealth penalty.
they want this guy to get the death penalty for sure, so they jointly selected our court, since one of the murders was committed here.
I think when the courts find them guilty, they should allow the family of those slain to come in and make up a firing squad. Their aim probably won't be quite as good as his was, but oh well.
In fact, we already know he's guilty. Lets save time and money and just do it now. They could do a pay-per-view to help cover the costs of finding them.

I don't think people wanted to see us at all. Bothering them bright and early in the mornings.
How many times did we knock, and they answered the door, and you smelled Sunday morning breakfast, of bacon, pancakes, etc. The last thing they wanted to see was us.
Oh sure, there were a very few amount, who were gracious and didn't slam the door in our face, but I tend to think they just were really nice people anyways, and didn't really matter who it was they came in contact with.

We need to remember, that in the case of voting for president, it is not always who has the most votes. Should it be that way? I think so. But it is done by the electoral voting system. Therefore, it is quite possible, and does happen, that the one with the most votes, does not win. It is a shame.
That being said however, I am very pleased that Bush is in office, instead of Gore.
