I think without a doubt that there is an inner sense of good and bad. Regardless of a belief in God.

Does God define "right and wrong" or is there an intrinsic 'good' ?
by Simon ini don't personally believe in a 'god' but i wonder for those who do .... is there an intrinsic "right and wrong" or moral code that would exist whether or not there was a god?.
to put it another way, is what we believe is "right or wrong" based on whatever god decides is right or wrong (ie.
he set's the standard) or is it an intrinisc thing that he also must adhere to in order to be thought of as 'good'.. if god has to adhere and go along with some intrinsic value system then does this effect any claims to be omnipotent and always good?

Who or what are these so called extra terrestials?
by heyfea infor the longest time people have claimed to have witnessed ufo's or extra terrestials.
there are a lot of documentaries dedicated to this subject and the information presented is quite credible.
they show videos of ufo's, they have people tell their experiences with allien abductions and recently they have shown us remarkable signs like the crop circles (extremely sophisticated ones wich i personally think cannot be made by a human anyhow, overnight and in the dark).

The only answer I have heard from the hall about aliens is: They are not mentioned in the bible - therefore they don't exist.
My new thought is this - I would be suprised that we are in fact the only living planet in the universe.
That does not mean however, that I believe they have come to visit us.

Verses that bothered you as a JW
by JH inwe find god's name "jehovah" so many times in the old testament, but not at all in the new testament.
jesus is called a "mighty god" in the bible.
jesus is also called "father".

One of the last verses in the bible, which talked about altering the bible, which we know the WTS did, by adding and leaving out words.
The other one about if they claim to be prophets, and it doesn't come true..... run!

granted, zaia (his name) was a little thinner, however, since i. have not seen him in 20 years i suppose he would have gained a few pounds.. .

Witnessing in extreme conditions
by undercover ini talked to a jw friend in another city yesterday who told me of an ice storm that hit where he lived.
he told me that 70% of the city where he lived was without power friday.
there were tons of trees down in the area including some in his yard.

I grew up in an area where the worst storms were just wind and rain. Of course, we had to go out in service. Every damn weekend. And holidays. Any chance my family had. No breaks. I remember many times being a door with the wind and rain blowing so hard it would turn the umbrella inside out right there at the door. And we expected these people to keep the door open and talk to us.
There just was no excuse not to go to a meeting or door to door.
Then I moved for a couple of years where there might be icy roads. Once, I remember the meeting being called off, for there was too much ice to drive. I was really suprised; I had never heard of a meeting being cancelled. Needless to say, I was pretty thrilled.
But going door to door under extreme weather conditions and expecting householders to talk is just plain rude and inconsiderate.

New JW Trinity
by OHappyDay injehovah.
the organization.
but he mentioned the organization and the faithful slave scores of times.. more and more i get the feeling that jesus exists only as a footnote, an after-thought among jehovah's witnesses.

My ex-student's letter of disassociation
by Titanic inhere is the letter of disassociation of one who was "my best" student when serving the borg.
we studied together for more than 2 years.
she got baptized and was doing pioneering hours slaving the borg.since my disassociation she has been scrutinizing the borg and she has been out for a while.now she is keen to disassociate herself from this cult.. so, here is her letter, and i hope that it can serve as an example for those who think about doing the same.. 1 march 2003. .

Great letter.
The more people leave well written letters such as this, perhaps some elders will stop to ponder. You never know. And the example that we show towards those still in will at some point help them escape from this cult too. They will not listen if we act rash, full of hatred. But if we calmly point out the problems like this letter has done, perhaps it will help those who read it think one day.

Jehovah's Witnesses can now VOTE!
by UnDisfellowshipped injehovah's witnesses were raped and tortured by the thousands in malawi because they obeyed the watchtower society's rules, and they broke caesar's law and refused to purchase a political card in a country that only had one polictical party.
now (since 1999), jehovah's witnesses are allowed to vote in political elections!
i would love to hear everyone's comments.

This is exactly why I started to believe that the WTS was NOT God's organization.
Nothing to do with teachings of doctrine. So many different religions teaching so many different things. That in itself just does not interest me.
The nail in the WTS coffin, is exactly things such as this. Where they hurt people, some to the point of losing their lives. To allow one country to vote, and another not to. And that cost so many people their lives. To change it later to suit their needs.
